J'ai vu une Tesla décoller. Et j'ai entendu beaucoup de bêtises.

« Ça ne sert à rien. » « Gadget de milliardaire. » « Qui a besoin d'une voiture qui vole ? »

Personne. Et c'est exactement pour ça que c'est important.

En 1978, Brabham a aligné en Formule 1 une voiture équipée d'un ventilateur géant à l'arrière. Il aspirait l'air sous le châssis et plaquait la voiture au sol. Elle a gagné sa première course avec une avance insolente. Elle a été interdite immédiatement.

Quarante-huit ans plus tard, on y revient. Un système de succion qui colle la voiture à la route et lui permet de passer sous la seconde au 0 à 100.

Personne n'a « besoin » de faire le 0 à 100 en moins d'une seconde. Comme personne n'a besoin d'une Formule 1. Et pourtant : les freins carbone de votre berline, l'hybridation de votre moteur, l'aérodynamique de votre SUV, les palettes au volant — tout ça vient de voitures de course que personne n'utilisera jamais pour aller au travail.
La Formule 1 ne sert à rien. Pourtant elle sert à tout.

En 1973, quand la France a lancé Ariane, l'Europe sortait de onze échecs consécutifs du programme Europa. La presse parlait d'argent jeté dans l'espace. Vingt ans plus tard, Ariane détenait la moitié du marché mondial des lancements commerciaux, et chaque satellite de télévision, de météo ou de GPS que vous utilisez a bénéficié de cette obstination.

Le progrès a toujours la même tête au début : un truc inutile, cher, ridicule, construit par des gens qu'on prend pour des fous.
Ce que j'ai vu à Dallas, ce n'est pas une voiture volante. C'est un châssis, une gestion de l'énergie et une maîtrise des flux d'air que l'industrie automobile mettra dix ans à digérer.
Les applications viendront : sécurité, freinage, stabilité, consommation. Elles finiront dans des voitures ordinaires conduites par des gens qui expliqueront, en 2036, que tout ça était évident.

La question n'est jamais « à quoi ça sert ».
La question est : qui ose encore construire des choses qui ne servent à rien ?

Il y a cinquante ans, c'était nous. La fusée, le TGV, le Concorde, le Minitel.

L'Europe construisait des choses absurdes et magnifiques.

Aujourd'hui, on commente depuis le siège arrière car nous sommes hors course.

Após a conferência de imprensa do Selecionador Nacional, e no seguimento de uma conversa com o Presidente da Federação Portuguesa de Futebol, tomei a decisão de deixar o estágio da Seleção Nacional.

A seu tempo, direi a verdade a todos os Portugueses sobre as razões que motivaram a minha saída da equipa nacional, à qual sempre me dediquei.

Agora é tempo de desejar boa sorte a Portugal e a todos os meus companheiros de equipa, sem exceção.

Há 116 anos, uma sociedade secreta mudou o regime em Portugal sem consultar ninguém…

Chamava-se Carbonária Portuguesa, a que os historiadores chamam «o exército secreto da República (Maçonaria)», e foi por acção dela que D. Carlos e o príncipe Luís Filipe foram mortos na rua a 1 de Fevereiro de 1908, como foi ela que organizou a revolução de 5 de Outubro de 1910.

Não houve referendo nem eleição, pois o povo era ignorante, foi assim que a revolução armada, feita por uma sociedade secreta, foi justificada.

O que se seguiu não foi mais limpo. Em 1911, Carolina Beatriz Ângelo, médica, republicana e chefe de família, teve de ir a tribunal para poder votar, ganhou a causa e tornou-se a primeira mulher a votar em Portugal; mas 2 anos depois, a lei de 3 de Julho de 1913 voltou a fechar-lhe essa porta, quando passou a escrever-se que eram eleitores os cidadãos «do sexo masculino» que soubessem ler e escrever, num país onde a maioria era analfabeta.

Estás a ler perfeitamente, foi a república que instituiu a regra…

Também o Presidente nunca foi eleito pelo povo, já que Manuel de Arriaga fora escolhido pela Assembleia em Agosto de 1911.

Mas a República acabou por comer os seus próprios filhos…. Na noite de 19 de Outubro de 1921, uma camioneta-fantasma percorreu Lisboa a recolher homens do regime para os executar, e entre os mortos ficaram o Primeiro-Ministro António Granjo e Machado Santos o chefe da Carbonária, o herói da Rotunda, o homem que tinha feito o 5 de Outubro, morto 14 dias depois do aniversário dessa mesma revolução.

Em 1923, os responsáveis directos foram julgados e condenados a prisão e degredo, sem que alguma vez se apurassem completamente as causas que permitiram aquela noite, nem as suas ligações aos responsáveis pela revolta de 19 de Outubro…

16 anos. 45 governos. 8 Presidentes.

2 governos chegaram a tomar posse.

🗣️ “I saw during the week when Nuno Mendes said they don’t need Cristiano Ronaldo, and I said, ‘Okay, we just have to wait.’ I wanted to see what Portugal would look like when the pressure came and Cristiano wasn’t there to absorb it.

Tonight against Norway, we saw exactly what I was talking about. Portugal won the game, yes, but they looked like a team playing without a clear emotional leader.

When Cristiano is on the pitch, he carries all the frustration. When something goes wrong, everyone looks at him. When the game becomes difficult, he demands the ball, demands more from his teammates and takes responsibility.

Tonight, you could see that frustration spreading everywhere.

Portugal won, but they lost three players in the process. Rúben Dias gets a yellow and misses the next match. João Félix gets a yellow and misses the next match. Conceição loses control and ends up with a red card.

That tells me something. When the game starts becoming chaotic, who is actually taking control of Portugal?

You look at that team and immediately understand that they are missing a leader figure.

And before anyone tells me Bruno Fernandes is the leader, please. Bruno is a fantastic footballer, but let’s not confuse being captain with actually having the authority to control a dressing room.

He hasn’t been able to lead Manchester United to the trophies they expect, and now people want to convince me he will suddenly become the man who leads Portugal through every difficult night? That is pure hallucination.

Cristiano doesn’t need an armband to lead. That is the difference.

You can take the captaincy away from Cristiano and he will still be the loudest voice on the pitch. You can put him on the bench and he will still be talking to players. You can have him losing 1-0 and somehow he makes everyone believe the game is still theirs.

Tonight Portugal had moments where they looked angry, frustrated and disconnected.

And this is why I laughed when I heard, ‘We don’t need Cristiano.’

Of course Portugal can win a football match without Cristiano Ronaldo. Nobody said they couldn’t.

But there is a massive difference between winning a match without Cristiano and replacing everything Cristiano gives you.

You can replace a striker.

You can replace a winger.

You can replace a captain.

But replacing the mentality of Cristiano Ronaldo? That is where Portugal are going to discover the difference.

Tonight they got the three points.

But Norway exposed something that the scoreline is hiding.

Portugal didn’t look like a team that had moved on.

They looked like a team still trying to figure out who is supposed to take Cristiano’s place.”

💬 Yaklaşık 30 yıl boyunca kadın gibi yaşamaya çalışan İsviçreli Chris Brönimann:

─ Ameliyattan önce sahip olduğum sağlıklı bedenimi sadece bir günlüğüne yeniden alabilmek için neler vermezdim. Böyle bir gün artık hiçbir zaman olmayacak.

─ 19 yaşındayken "trans" bir kadınla tanıştım, ondan etkilenelerek "Kadın olursam ben de mutlu olurum" diye düşündüm. Ölümcül bir yanılgıymış.

─ Önce İsviçre televizyonu, ardından tüm LGBT oluşumları gece-gündüz benim haberlerimi yapmaya başladı. Adeta "LGBT'nin bir rol modeli" hâline getirilmeye çalışıldım.

─ O dönemde doğru olanı yaptığıma inanıyordum. Trans geçmişi olan insanlara yönelik hoşgörü ve saygı konusunda insanları bilinçlendirdiğimi düşünüyordum. Dünyanın renkli ve çeşitli olduğunu göstermenin benim misyonum olduğuna inanıyordum.

─ 16 kez ameliyat oldum, çok sayıda komplikasyon yaşadım ama hiçbir zaman gerçekten ciddi biçimde "Neden?" ya da "Burada tam olarak ne yanlış gitti?" diye sorgulanmadı.

─ Aslında bir illüzyona hizmet ettim ve aynı zamanda bir illüzyon sattım. Bugün bundan gerçekten utanıyorum.

─ Umduğum özgürleşmenin aksine kendimi daha da fazla sıkışmış hissettim. Beni daha da az anladılar, ben de ruhsal ve psikolojik olarak kendimle daha da az başa çıkabildim. Bu o kadar aşırıydı ki, birkaç kez hastanede yatmam gerekti, 2006’da artık tahammül edemediğimi düşündüğüm için hayatıma son vermek istedim. Tüm bunlar geçiş sürecinden sonra yaşandı.

─ Detranzisyon (geri dönüş) yapmak, tranzisyon (geçiş) yapmaktan çok daha zordur. Sözde başarılı ve kapsamlı bir tıp sistemimiz var, geçiş sürecini teşvik ediyor ve insana tüm seçenekler yelpazesini sunuyor. Ancak geri dönüş söz konusu olduğunda aynı tıp sistemi ortadan kayboluyor. Aynı doktorlar artık orada değil ve size yardım etmek istemiyorlar.

─ Neredeyse 30 yıl "trans kadın" olarak yaşadım ve 30 yılı aşkın süredir cinsiyet hormonları kullanıyorum. Bunun ne anlama geldiğini, ne tür etkileri olduğunu gençler bilmiyor. Söz konusu olan çocuklar ve gençler. Onların korunmaya ihtiyacı var.

─ Ben sessiz kalmayacağım. Evet, "trans" aktivistlerin tüm öfkesini üzerime çekiyorum. Nefret mesajları, ölüm tehditleri alıyorum. Neden? Sırf bu çılgın konuda tüm sonuçların farkında olmamızı istediğim için.
