been playing with java 27 this week. nothing flashy but the stuff that matters is there
g1 is now the default gc everywhere
compact object headers on by default, so less heap for free
post-quantum tls without touching code
structured concurrency still in preview though. 7th time lol
#Java #JDK27 #JVM #OpenJDK
@elonmusk catching the booster still looks unreal every time. catching both on one flight would be a huge deal for reuse. watching this one live for sure
@vercel_dev auto revoke is the right move. by the time someone notices a leaked token in a public repo it's usually way too late. more platforms should do this by default
@antigravity approving permissions out loud is kind of wild lol. i can see it for planning, but i'd still want to see the diff before saying yes to anything
@OpenAI@fmf_org good to see labs agreeing on one methodology instead of each one grading itself. hope it ends up public enough that smaller teams can use it too
@AnthropicAI the part about models that can explain and not just predict is what i'm curious about. for science, a black box that's right isn't really enough
@ClaudeDevs the setup part was always where i lost the most time. saving the environment for next time is the real win, especially with a spring boot + react repo where half the battle is just getting it to start
@elonmusk the latency math checks out for long routes. the big question is total bandwidth vs cables carrying hundreds of Tbps each, plus all the satellite replacements. would love to see real numbers once it's at scale
@AravSrinivas moving from prompts to goals is the right call. what i want to know is how it handles a goal that's half done. does it pick up where it left off the next day or start over?
@vibeonX69 this is so real. i keep a short context.md in the repo now (stack, folder layout, conventions) and paste it at the start of each chat. saves a lot of "wait which service handles auth again"
@vercel_dev on by default is the big part. nobody turns tracing on until prod is already on fire lol. being able to search error traces from the cli is nice too
@AsideAI running in the background across apps is what sells it for me. most of these tools take over your whole screen. would like to see the evals once they're public though
@vishalshahis describing what you need and just getting it is a cool idea. curious how far you can push it before you hit a wall and need real customization
@solopribuilds bit of both for me. i ask fewer people for help on code now, but i end up sharing more of what i build because it ships faster. guess it depends what you do with the time you save
I’m a Java developer trying to learn RAG. Wrote down what I understand so far, before I forget how confusing it felt at the start. https://t.co/K448qdZ7Nl
