Modi govt slams US Vice President for dehumanising Indian workers in the country as ‘indentured servants’
Pleased to meet Mrs. Akie Abe, wife of late former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Deeply value her enduring association with India.
Abe San was a dear friend and a visionary leader who played a defining role in elevating India-Japan relations to new heights. The inauguration of the Abe Memorial Corridor at the Rudraksh Convention Centre in Varanasi yesterday is a fitting tribute to his lasting contribution to India-Japan friendship.

Dear Elon @elonmusk
You hv certainly stirred up plenty of reaction with ur posts. But this needs a response from me, as did ur “Electronic Voting machines can be hacked” post from some time ago.
As someone who knows a little bit abt Telecom as someone who played a decent-ish role in building Indias wireless sector as an Entrepreneur and then as a policy maker , let me share my thoughts.
It is true that Indias Telecom was a sector beset with opaqueness and corruption for several decades - where cronies ruled under the benevolent love and the politics of ur latest fan (name not withheld - @RahulGandhi )
But under PM @narendramodi , 3 principles govern the tech (including Telecom/Internet) sector.
Open, Safe & Trusted and Accountable.
#OSTA
✅ Open - Free from any monopoly-duopoly. Free and fair competition.
✅ #SafeAndTrusted - Infra, Network , Platforms must be safe and trusted.
✅ Accountable - Every participant should be legally accountable for safety and trust.
I was a MP first and then part of PM @narendramodi jis team when this framework was developed. I have more than a little experience of fighting years of political and bureaucratic opaqueness and corruption, which shaped these principles.
so todays India is not that old crony driven India.
I am not in govt anymore and certainly dont speak for it. But it seems to me that Govt has made it clear: all three satcom licensees are at broadly the same stage of ensuring security clearance by verifying its safety and trust first, then spectrum.
Satellite IP services have many security implications. More so in a country like India which has faced years of Terror and insurgency supported by inmical state actors in our neighbourhood. From 26/11 terror attacks to recent ones in Pahalgam, satcom has been preferred comm for Terrorists. Satellite VOIP and encryption creates more challenges security wise. Not insurmountable but new capabilities and capacity hv to be built to ensure Safety and Trust.
I hv used @Starlink and I think its awesome technology - and represents a new era in mobility innovation. No doubt.
But a country has to plan for itself and its interests before every new choice. Thats what India is doing. Patience is unavoidable and in this case is a necessity.

Delhi University is funded by the Indian taxpayer, yet its History syllabus continues to look remarkably like a marxist and Islamic ideological project.
The works of 𝗥.𝗦. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮, 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗮 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗿, 𝗕𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮, 𝗜𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗯, 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘂𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻, 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗯, 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗯𝘂𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻, 𝗜.𝗛. 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶, 𝗠𝘂𝘇𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗺, 𝗦.𝗔.𝗔. 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝘃𝗶, 𝗞.𝗔. Their writings repeatedly view Hindu society through the prism of caste oppression, inequality and patriarchy, while giving substantial space to Islamic rule and Hindu-Muslim relations.
Students are exposed extensively to this leftist and muslim interpretation of India's past.
But look at who is missing? 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶 𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗻. 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗺 𝗚𝗼𝗲𝗹. 𝗥𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗽. 𝗞.𝗦. 𝗟𝗮𝗹, 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗿𝗮𝗱 𝗘𝗹𝘀𝘁, 𝗩𝗮𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵. 𝗔𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲. 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗶𝘃 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗿𝗮. 𝗝. 𝗦𝗮𝗶 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗸.
𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗯𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺!
Though autobiography of Nehru and Gandhi form the part of the readings, there is no place for any works of stalwarts like Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. Primarily, none of the works of those that portray India and Hinduism in positive light are taught to Indian youth studying history.
This is the real scandal.
Why are students repeatedly given Marxist and Islamic view of the historical debate but denied the other?
A university should teach students how competing historians interpret the same evidence.
When a publicly funded university systematically gives enormous space to marxist historiographical tradition while excluding virtually all major contemporary voices challenging it, can this honestly be called academic diversity?
Or is it simply the left ideological monopoly over Indian history, preserved inside the university syllabus??
Addressing the India Mobile Congress. It is encouraging to see India's telecom sector steadily moving towards greater self-reliance. https://t.co/tIuohkURIE
here is my opinion as an Indian and a supporter and admirer of Elon.
1. Yes, there are certain oligarch who is and will lobby to block Starlink in India.
But they have provided cheap and easy access to 100s of millions of poor Indians in last decade. Not out generosity, for profit. And I am totally ok with it. Capitalism 👆
2. India is a country that is very susceptible to foreign influence.
(CJP/NGO/Missionaries/Peacefools, ongoing protests.)
In such situations, Internet and flow of information can illegally and uncontrollably give rise to unrests that are of unnatural origin or outright false.
If Starlink is introduced in India, Government won't have a control on these elements. I trust Elon, but I don't trust US Gov/DS.
3. Tech sovereignty and capability.
India, unlike other countries (except China and Russia, which do not and will not have Starlink "EVER") have technical capability to build, launch and operate its own Starlink analogue.
So, I don't see why India should allow Starlink to be a competitor in Indian market.
4. Access to the Internet in remote areas.
Yes. Starlink can provide Internet access to certain remote areas, but India already has a very dense coverage of 5G all over the country.
Risks Vs. Benefits in this equation does not workout.
5. Indian Telecom Sector.
The Indian telecom sector directly and indirectly employs approximately 4,000,000 people.
And this sector has seen a bloody battle since its origin and many companies have crashed and burned. Out of this competition, 3 survived, and work on a thin* and well balanced margins.
If Starlink enters Indian market, it will disturb this delicate balance.
In conclusion, however good Starlink is, it is not a good fit in Indian context.
But I am open to any logical counter arguments.
Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Ji reflects on PM @narendramodi's vision of a prosperous Bharat while preserving its cultural heritage.
She highlights his focus on social reform, cleanliness, women's empowerment, youth and the environment, along with efforts in education, health and sanitation.

Chilling words on Fox News broadcast.
Why should Indians care?
BECAUSE THESE IDEOLOGICAL STRANDS ROUTINELY INTERSECT ON INDIAN STREETS IN THE NAME OF DEMOCRATIC DISSENT.
So, beware. The day is not far when...
In my 48 years in public life, I have seen governments change, economies transform, technologies disrupt the world and leaders rise and fall. One lesson has only become clearer with time: leadership matters.
As Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji completes 25 uninterrupted years in executive office, I reflect on what makes his journey exceptional - clarity of vision, integrity, discipline, attention to detail and, above all, the ability to execute.
Through a pandemic, wars, geopolitical uncertainty and rapid technological change, India has remained steady at the wheel. We have expanded infrastructure at an unprecedented pace, strengthened welfare delivery, embraced technology, encouraged enterprise and emerged with greater confidence on the world stage.
Few leaders get the opportunity to shape a generation. Rarer still are those who help shape the destiny of a nation. I’m delighted to present my opinion piece today in @the_hindu on Prime Minister Modi Ji’s 25 years of leadership and the transformation of India.

PM @narendramodi's 25-year journey, from Gujarat's agrarian transformation to a broader transformation of Indian agriculture, shows how better irrigation, reliable power, rural roads, technology and market access helped farmers increase productivity and income.
At the national level, this approach has expanded to direct farmer support, diversification and better rural infrastructure.

PM @narendramodi's journey has helped shift India from a "chalta hai" attitude to a "badal sakta hai" mindset, writes former Vice President Shri @MVenkaiahNaidu.
