Hard to applaud this statement: too little, too late, intolerably insufficient under int’l law. EU states must ▶️impose a full arms embargo ▶️suspend trade (incl. @HorizonEU) ▶️prosecute alleged criminals and ▶️send a fleet to break the siege. Nothing less.

It is unbelievable how nonchalantly leaders like @kajakallas and @vonderleyen continue to ignore (and stand against) intl law and the decisions of the highest intl Courts re Israel: among others, I shall remind them, the ICJ ordered Israel to:
- withdraw its troops and remove settlers from the WHOLE OF THE OPT by September 17, 2025 and meahwile
- other states not to recognise, aid and assist Israel in its wrongdoings.
No one can ask Israel to ensure anything other than LEAVING and then responding to justice. It is that simple.

Instead, @kajakallas and @vonderleyen's persistence denote knowledge, intent and purpose, which shall be missed by the relevant authorities when assessing their failure to prevent and stop genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, and bring to an end the underlying unlawful occupation.

🇩🇪 Fully aware this is beyond my UN remit. BUT.

As a conscientious European I ask: will anyone confront Germany for its POLICE’s shameful, sustained, and widespread violence that, after a year, reveals an institutionalized descent into repression?

While too many Germans remain, once again, silent in front of their state's abuses, will the EU and the UN act?

And as Europeans, have we truly learnt anything from history, or only memorised it?

Elon Musk’s decision to block @ekrem_imamoglu ‘s X account only in Turkey — where he represents the democratic opposition — is deeply alarming. If President @RTErdogan weren’t in power, and if Musk didn’t share a certain political alignment, this act of censorship would never have happened. This is not tech neutrality — it’s a clear political stance. Under Musk, X is no longer an open, democratic space. It has become a tool of propaganda. The European Union cannot stand by: it’s time to act firmly against this abuse of digital power.
