To anyone transitioning into a new role
this month (intern, upper level resident, fellow, or new attending), please remember to be kind to yourself. Learning takes time.
The Republican party is showing us exactly who they are.
They want to tell you what you can read.
What you can say.
Who you can love.
Or when you get to start a family.
They want to make your decisions for you.
That's not freedom. https://t.co/xVyZnMbnjF
A fellow reached out to me. “I’m working 80+ hours a week & running on little sleep. They’re telling me to ‘Just be more resilient.’”
Clinicians don’t need more resiliency training. Instead, they need more support. More advocacy. More people seeing them as whole human beings.
30 infants die and we recall 4.7 mil Rock ‘n Play Sleepers.
2 toddlers die and we recall 3.2 mil Calico Critters toys.
2 infants die and we recall so much formula that the US goes into shortage.
Last year, over 6,000 children were injured by gun violence.
Nothing. Nada.
3 years in, the status of #LongCovid

California won't be doing business with @walgreens -- or any company that cowers to the extremists and puts women's lives at risk.
We're done.

IMO the biggest risk is the one we are currently dealing with: our public health and health care systems are overburdened, underfunded, understaffed, and overall just completely burnt out.
If we don’t focus on fixing those systems then we’ll have bigger problems than H5N1.
How quickly someone answers you is rarely a sign of how much they care about you.
Delayed replies to emails, texts, and calls are often symptoms of being overwhelmed.
Unless it's urgent, the true test of a relationship isn't the speed of response. It's the quality of attention.
I will never stop fighting for a “new normal” where vulnerable people are protected by their communities. But yes, it is hard. And so much the harder when friends and allies give up because it’s easier to pretend the pandemic is over
We dont have to watch COVID cases & hospitalization climb.
We dont have to just standby as pediatric hospitals are overwhelmed by RSV, Flu, and COVID.
We dont have to ignore the suffering of our neighbor's kids.
We could employ mitigations to stop the spread. We all know how.
My pronouns are he/him. And I want to thank Dr. Fauci for his long service.
Be on the right and respectful side of things. It’s better for your own soul, and better for others.
@elonmusk This is disgusting. Attacking someone who literally dedicated his life to public health and helped us as a nation navigate a pandemic while constantly being attacked, despite the fact his ultimate goal was to keep us safe, is despicable.
