Youth and residents of Tanoso have arrested their chief, the Tanoso Ankobeahene, Nana Amoako Atta, and handed him over to the police over his alleged involvement in illegal mining activities near the Tano River.
The chief was reportedly apprehended after he was allegedly caught transporting sacks of mineral-bearing stones and sand from an illegal mining site to the palace, where he claimed ownership of the materials.
