Today, Rivet @rivetdating launches across U.S. Backed by $10.5M Seed from @peakxvpartners, @shinecapital , @BlumeVentures, @elieseid. Rivet is a dating network built on Social Matching, our unique approach where real people help each other find love and connection.
Optimal stopping theory works for apartments if you have clear constraints and a buy box that limits total # of options clearly.
Less so for things like dating and hiring. You would need to know exactly how many potential mates and how many potential hires there are.
You stop at 37% of the total number of available options.
It also assumes you can always return to the best option of those you’ve seen after the 37% mark. Obviously not always the case [apartment could be leased, person could be dating someone else, etc]
It only took 14 years… but it’s finally here 😊

@kwindla I have tried to this and it almost works.. i prompt llm to respond in <say></say> and <think><think> tag and only do tts of what’s in <say> tag .. this way reson why llm is not saying any thing in some turns is also preserved and helps in next turn
Speed of execution is the moat inside which live all other moats. Speed is your best strategy. Speed is your strongest weapon. Speed has THE highest correlation to mammoth outcomes. Those who conflate speed w/ 'thoughtlessness' haven't seen world class execution @ speed. E.g.:

All scaling founders/teams must use something like https://t.co/AXFGiLbEXn. Hiring decisions are critical, particularly while scaling. Mis hires are super costly mistakes.
It's amazing how consistently top founders say these things about team building:
1. I wish I had stayed in every interview loop for longer as the company scaled
2. I wish I vetoed hires I didn't think we should make even when people on my team wanted to make them
3. I wish I parted with people more quickly once I had any inclination I should
Particularly for founders who want to empower their teams, this stuff can be unnatural. But it's probably one place where more founders wish they were more dictatorial in hindsight.
Why do American cities feel less "alive" than their European counterparts?
It's because of something called the "missing middle".
A century ago, American cities looked completely different... (thread) 🧵
