Friday evening as the nor’easter approached, we were watching TV and suddenly all the windows facing west filled with bright orange light. It was creepy and beautiful.

We went outside. The clouds in the west were acting like a giant reflector, spreading warm light from the setting sun across the sky.

Meanwhile, rain was already falling to the east, so the same setting sun was producing rainbows in the backyard!
