Media Dispute: The @CCommissionKE has dismissed a complaint against @NationMediaGrp over a @NationAfrica photograph published on 18 January 2024.
The Commission ruled that the image – showing a man walking under the caption “Kenyans Continue Feeling the Pinch of High Fuel Costs” – did not breach the Code of Conduct for Media Practice. It affirmed that media outlets may use illustrative photographs taken in public places for stories of public interest, without needing prior consent, provided no individual is unfairly identified or misrepresented.
