Every teachers’ and headteachers’ union has now rejected the government’s miserable pay offer. Time for government to stop mucking round and get into meaningful talks to deliver a fair pay rise. Oh, and what goes for teachers goes for civil servants as well!!!

🚨 Teachers are set to face the biggest real-terms cut to pay in a generation.
We can't let it happen.
From today, teachers in England, Scotland and Wales are being balloted for national industrial action over pay.
Vote YES and YES in your ballot for a #BetterDealForTeachers.
Parents clearly value the work of teachers and headteachers and believe that teachers should be better paid. The Government should be investing more in teachers, rather than cutting their pay and planning yet more cuts.

A 5% pay award is unacceptable.
You need & deserve a pay award which will enable you to weather cost-of-living pressures & which begins the process of restoring the real terms value of your pay.
Back the ballot for a #betterdealforteachers.
Ballot opens on 27 October.
The Government is seeking to prevent workers taking collective action to defend their jobs, pay and working conditions in direct contravention of its international commitments and obligations.

The Tameside delegation had a very uplifting weekend at #NASUWT22. Excellent motions and great debate. It was great to see old friends face to face again. Our first-time delegate said it has inspired her to go on the next training course and become an even more active member!
And that’s a wrap 👏🏻 I’d like to thank all our members, exec, officers, president, staff, speakers, guests, suppliers and exhibitors for an amazing #NASUWT22 Annual Conference. What an incredible few days. Have a safe journey home and we’ll see you next year in Glasgow 👋 🏴
Thank you so much to all of our members from across the UK who have joined us for our #NASUWT22 Annual Conference this year - both in person and online.
Fantastic for our union to be reunited for our Annual Conference once again.
Together, we will take forward the Campaign Plan from this #NASUWT22 into workplaces – into our local associations, regions and nationally – to secure a #BetterDealforTeachers.
"How dare he suggest that teachers spent their time drinking and socialising during lockdown?!
His is meant to be the party of law and order.
But his privileged pals were happy to party whilst the rest of us obeyed the law," added @PatrickR_NASUWT.
General Secretary @PatrickR_NASUWT said: "Whilst Ministers broke the rules, throughout the pandemic our members worked around the clock. And, I would be more than happy to take one for the team by meeting with Michael Fabricant – any time, any place anywhere.
