As we celebrate 60 years of our national currency, it is encouraging that the Bank of Ghana reaffirms its commitment to monetary stability and economic prosperity.
That is what my #ResettingGhana Agenda is about. What we seek is a stable currency and not a strong #GhanaCedi. My administration is working to guarantee a stable Ghana Cedi to create a conducive environment for business and investment, and to ensure stable food prices, particularly, to benefit the good people of Ghana.
A stable cedi means a predictable business environment, affordable food prices, increased investor confidence and sustainable economic growth.

China, during my bilateral talks with President Xi Jinping confirmed an additional grant of 200 million RMB to Ghana, in addition to an earlier grant of 200 million RMB for the construction of the proposed Aflao Market and renovation of the National Theatre in Accra.
The Aflao market will be an important trading platform linking Ghana and Togo, and key to our #ResettingGhana Agenda.
Ghana is looking forward to finalising the Zero Tariff Policy with China by the end of October.
We also discussed implementing measures to ensure responsible and licensed small scale mining in Ghana, even as our business communities explore the many opportunities for trade and investment.
China is excited about Ghana’s 24 hour economy initiative and Green Transition policy and is positioning itself to partner with government and our business sector.
I reassured President Xi of Ghana’s commitment to the One China Policy and to continue our collaboration towards a new Global System of Governance being spearheaded by him.
