Today marks 25 years of the National Lottery and here at @wonconnect we are grateful to have had support from @TNLUK. Without this type of support we would not be able to empower #Glasgow elderly and isolated communities through our digital training.

One of our excellent volunteers from #MuseTech19, @natalia_pfa, has written a great synopsis of the day with some of her takeaways from the day's talks https://t.co/EpMmZoD07s #MuseTech#MuseSocial
.@hannah_rfh excellent on podcasts. Demonstrates value of a good editor to enable staff to produce compelling content. Smart model for evergreen content. (Looks over at @christt and @soph_frosty.) #MuseTech19
It was lovely to see so many new faces at this year’s #MuseTech19 conference - don’t forget to sign up to our JiscMail list (if you’ve not already) to get involved in conversations and discussions there too! https://t.co/JP7xf6GgCW
Takeaways from today:
Male, pale, stale ⛔️
Digitisation isn’t neutral
The clickers are fighting back
If it spins, it wins
Paying full attention to an awesome conference whilst live tweeting is nigh impossible.
I ♥️ the @ukmcg community.

While lack of funding is often seen as THE reason not to digitise collections, there are also legal, political and social reasons that hinder digitisation. Worth looking further into @helencasey28's research on the subject. Thank you for your contribution today at #MuseTech19!
Fascinating! When GLAMs partner with open source websites such as @Wikipedia, their cultural objects gain value as more information about them is discovered. Thank you Jason
Really exciting to hear more about the Nomad project, from @AbiraHussein and @SophieDixon1. The project uses 3D models and mixed reality to “contextualise archival Somali objects with the people and traditions to which they belong”. https://t.co/xtKQmRxT4b #MuseTech19
As proved by @ArtsEMC, changing an institution's culture to embrace openness can happen when working from the ground up and finding allies in unexpected places, instead of relying on a strategy that comes from the top and takes time to bring to life. #Musetech19
Making data management more open, efficient and accessible takes time and presents issues such as using one UID per object, managing copyright licensing and constantly updating the system. But it's worth it in the long run! Thanks @rgs1510#Musetech19
When taking 3D pictures of objects, make sure to explain errors in the picture description. Otherwise, elements of the 3D picture can be interpreted as part of the physical object and distort our perception of it. Thank you @kirazumkley #Musetech19
