My [minor] contribution was funded through a COVID-19 grant to work on a project outside my PhD while we were in lockdown in New South Wales, Aus. Thank you Grad Research @Uni_Newcastle 🥲.
🚨New article out exploring the use of ERPs (MMN & P3b) as potential biomarkers for autism and adhd. It's open access in @EegClinical. I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to this work during my PhD.
Hello! Do you have a science degree (but not a PhD!)?I'm compiling a list of jobs people have in science WITHOUT doing PhDs for my first-year students want to make the list a little more diverse. Bonus points for adding details about what you do to go with the job title/industry!
I think it's extremely important for all students to understand the ethics of using genAI. But, I also want to showcase the exciting ways they can use these tools to enhance their learning.
With the recent AI developments from @Google (see #NotebookLM) and @ChatGPTapp/@OpenAI (see #GPT-4), I have been thinking about how to incorporate AI tools in my classes (see🧵 below). Interested to hear what others in #academia are doing too...
A potential class idea might be: I teach pre-service teachers about growth mindset. Students read research and textbook chpt. on the topic. In groups they use a tool (e.g @canva) to generate a few pages of a children's book (pics & images) to apply knowledge + understanding.
For the final keynote session of #INSAR2024 we have @WennLawson. I always enjoy hearing him speak. First up, he showed this video developed by @AutismSA "If The World Were Built for Me" https://t.co/2dwonmkyms
It's interesting to hear that there are the same challenges from presenters related to recruitment and time... Regardless if it's autistic or non-autistic research. Working with teachers and schools from the beginning seems to be a potential way forward.
