I once did surgery on a guy who had mumps 50 years prior. His testicles looked like someone had microwaved them, chewed them, spit them out, and then shoved them back in his scrotum. That is what mumps does to testicles. Vaccines prevent this from happening.
The CDC is not allowed to comment on the tuberculosis outbreak in Kansas. The word must get out, however. Most of the world is vaccinated against TB, but the US is not. We are vulnerable and this is a real threat.
I need people to understand how difficult it is to get an NIH grant. You spend months writing a proposal, following strict guidelines that include a detailed multiyear budget, bios of everyone on your team, plans for participant safety & ethical conduct. Then you send it off -1/n
@beerfaery @DZBillFulton @NFLTG_71 this is just a feature of apple phones-- you can now "like" a text like you can like a post on Twitter. If your phone doesn't support that feature, then you'll se a description of what she did instead.
@clhubes Mine is too young to really see it yet, but she 100% has my (noticeable) eye shape. It made me realize that I better not let her hear me talk badly about the way I look! For lots of reasons, but especially that I'd be disparaging qualities she might end up with, too.
@_celia_bedelia_@Emmaash3 You literally donโt have to be this rude to someone pointing out their experience with how hormonal birth control can have bad side effects for some people.
@BlanketRacheler @clhubes If my almost 8 week old daughter didn't think her bassinet in our room was made of lava and a true bringer of death, I would happily put her in it every time she needed to sleep. I still try, and get maybe an hour out of it at a time. Send help & supplies plz thx
@Archaeon_Alex I've heard a lot of people misunderstand how biology uses scientific method, and gettin upset or distrustful of the whole broad field when the generally accepted scientific understanding of a disease, concept, or body part changes.
