“Beautiful Life” was released in 1995 as a single from The Bridge and became another major international hit for Ace of Base. It reached No. 15 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart, while topping the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and Canada's RPM Dance/Urban chart.

The track was written by Jonas Berggren and John Ballard. Berggren wrote the song on January 1, 1994, while he was in the Canary Islands. He later recalled that he heard the melody in his head as he was preparing to leave the islands, inspired by the beautiful sunset and his mixed feelings about going home. The success of “The Sign,” which had just reached No. 1 in the United States, also inspired him as he began writing what would become one of the first songs for Ace of Base's second album, The Bridge.
