How brutally this Govt is exploiting income tax payers. An example.
> Before 2017, there were no surcharge on Income upto 1 crore.
> Modi Govt reduced the limit and started surcharge from 50L onwards.
> So, taxpayers need to pay 10% extra tax on top of Income tax already paid and 4% cess.
In 2017 a rent of 2BHK in top cities were around 20K, now in 2026 it's somewhere 50K. The inflation has raised atleast 2-3x. 50L in 2017 is atleast 1.25cr in 2026 but surcharge limit isn't adjusted accordingly. It's still at 50L in 2026 which was 1cr before 2017 🥲
Count how badly and at how many levels this Govt is taxing us.
income tax -> then surcharge -> then health and education cess -> then exemption limit reduced to half -> then limit not adjusted to inflation -> then GST as you spend money.
With visible and invisible tax Govt tax atleast 6 times to income taxpayer for a single rupee earned and still give nothing in return.
The cruel part of being a Salaried person in India is that whole year you pay the income tax even before the salary hit into your account and you think that now you don't have any tax liability.
But then you file ITR and see that you've 50k as income from FD interest and on that now you've to pay not only tax but also interest for late payment of tax.
//and if I am not wrong,he was the one who introduced this scheme//
@singersrinivas , you are grossly wrong. Breakfast scheme was introduced by @mkstalin . A simple google search would have saved you from this embarrassment. 🤦🏾♂️
This of course doesn’t change anything but Vijay is changing the game totally . I really like the Chief minister Vijay that he honors the right icons of the past . Kamaraj was indeed known for his integrity and if I am not wrong,he was the one who introduced this scheme
We think something is a low and @GautamGambhir surprises us with a deeper low. 0-2 drubbing against Ireland and 0-4 against England. His tenure has brought more shame than success to Indian cricket team. High time he is sacked as he won't resign.
I am sorry to point this out, but we are the number one investment destination in the country, and you don’t attract investors by creating social media reels.
As explained the other day, every single investment requires a lot of negotiation, technical precision, detail orientation, and extensive homework to understand investor needs.
If the Industry Minister continues to give interviews like this, we will become a laughing stock among the investing community and our competing states.
While it is the prerogative of the Chief Minister to choose his cabinet, if a choice impacts the state adversely, he needs to review his decision.
Salaried employees can’t hide income even if they want to. TDS cuts salary before it even reaches the bank account.
Meanwhile many professionals casually show 50% expenses under Section 44ADA despite barely spending 10-15% in reality, and everyone acts like it’s normal.
Then the government wonders why the salaried middle class feels frustrated and cheated.
The system is designed in a way where honest taxpayers carry the load while loopholes become “tax planning” for others.
