Delighted to be back @Fettes_College speaking to 4th form all things brain, exams and performance. Did you know your brain stores 4.7 billion books worth of information??!! Feed it the right foods in the right and it will thrive! Anyone for blueberries?
Excited for a week of talks @CitizenshipGhs talking about hydration, labels, sugar and snacks. Kicked off this rather wet morning with the first group of engaging pupils eager to learn more.
Yesterday I began a week of talks starting with @3_rifles regiment on the powerful connection between food and mood. I shared insights on how nutrition impacts mental well-being and performance. Grateful for the engaging discussion! #FoodAndMood#ArmyWellness#NutritionTalk
Another talk @fettesPSE on brain health and exams. I don't have top brain foods because there are so many foods that can support the brain. We do have tastings of chocolate and blueberries as they can be healthy snacks with brain boosting benefits.
Thank you @natasha_alonzi, nutritionist for coming to speak to our 4th Form this week about what they should be eating in order to achieve their best in their exams. #rainbowfood#micronutrients
@fettesPSE Thank you again for having me. The pupils were as usual very engaging and participated with great enthusiasm! Good luck to them in their exams next year!
I find myself sitting & reflecting on my doodle about rest. Unpicking where I need to slow down, to let go, to protect time, to pace myself & to ask for help
Today, a beautiful listening space by @charlie_psych @bridgetlees1 has inspired change. Recommend their spaces to you all
Pleasure talking to the pupils @CitizenshipGhs about brain foods for exams. Salmon, dark chocolate, avocado, broccoli and blueberries are all good starts for helping the brain!
Why is fat important? Not one macronutrient should be demonised over another. Fat is good for you and should never have been anything else. It is essential for brain health. What type of fat do you eat? How much do you eat? Do you exclude it?
The University of Agder (UiA) in Norway, has demonstrated that children who maintain a nutritious diet throughout their childhood exhibit improved mental health by the age of eight years.
