@eva_kurilova@ThomasWillett9 So it's not enough that this person set out to and potentially assaulted a teenager in a public restroom. They could also *claim* to be a woman too. They must have cut that bit out of the clip because I didn't see it ... π€¦ββοΈ
Trans people are just trans.
@laurenancona P1: Horrible people are saying your son has autism. Don't listen to them!
Mum: No, my son's not autistic - he's just being cute!
I think she asked this question for a reason, and it's not to get an actual answer. Hopefully, if her son *is* autistic, it's not a complete shock.
@AnnMemmott It also seems a bit bigoted against LGBTIQA+ people or at least shows some possible stereotypes that they expect from NT teen boys. 'What, you bought your mum CLOTHES? Including UNDERWEAR? Well ... *that's* strange ...' π€
@stageyrebecca No issue. I'm disabled and use public transport when I need to. I want other disabled people to use public transport when they need to also. It shouldn't be my concern, really.
What bothers me is the announcer trying to evoke sympathy for themselves with 'it takes time'.
We KNOW what comes next. We KNOW what came before
Drag was illegal in parts of Australia until the 2000s. Homosexuality was illegal in parts until the 1990s. Most of us were alive then, like come on we need to defend that shit so we don't end up back behind bars for existing
But also, not enough of you are up in arms over the books either
Why are so many queers sitting back & watching our rights to be participating members of our communities get increasingly degraded? Or covering your eyes like it won't happen to you?
It's great everyone is up in arms over banning same-sex parenting books, but why wasn't banning drag storytime the line for so many of you?
Drag performers are the backbone of the queer community, & on the frontlines advocating for our rights. We also cop the most abuse/threats
