I've seen a few guys selling Pinterest courses saying things like, “only high-quality pins get clicks, ugly pins don’t work.”
The truth is, ugly pins do get clicks but well-designed pins will always bring in way more clicks.
Well, my pin design client is proving this point. 😉
Just took over a client's account in the fashion niche.
One pin only pulled almost 2M impressions in the last 180 days…
but only 320 outbound clicks. 🤔
Upon auditing their a/c, they were around 0.5% click-through rate while the norm for this niche is 3%-5%.
First thing I’m fixing ☛ Board structure.
Right now, all 10 boards are getting millions of impressions but they’re way too broad.
It looks like boards with ultra-competitive keywords and every kind of fashion pin thrown in.
This kind of setup works if you know what you're doing.
High volume means nothing if your traffic isn’t targeted, which explains the viral reach but painfully low CTR.
We’re now rebuilding the account with tighter board clusters, better keyword alignment, and a clear funnel from pin to product.
