The one good thing I can say about this entire Platner shitshow is that most Democrats are calling for him to drop out, which is not how Republicans have acted when their favored candidates have faced credible rape allegations. The parties are still different: Democrats see credible rape allegations as disqualifying; Republicans continue to have a nearly unlimited tolerance for abusing women. Call them "Dem HR lady politics" if you want, but I'm actually glad we haven't fully rejected them.

Graham Platner should obviously drop out and I think he will drop out, but jesus christ, men -- if you've raped, abused, or otherwise badly mistreated women or anyone in the past, can you please just sit out running for office?
