Rare long tweet:
It’s just funny how Shai free throw discourse happens every game like a pick your own adventure book.
1) Your team lost and he shot a lot of FTs “He lives at the line! FT Merchant!”
2) Your team lost and he shot 2-to-7 FTs “Well it actually isn’t about the volume it’s about *how* he gets them!”
3) Your team wins “BEAT SGA AND THE REFS (again implying the league is favoring little ole Oklahoma City and discrediting a win by saying without the refs stopping that hypothetical rigging your team still loses)”
It’d be a lot easier to just say you don’t like him/OKC and move on, right? Isn’t this ever exhausting? Because when/If Luka ever breaks through this attention turns to him and the Lakers whistle or whoever else is next up. If the Pistons win it this year they’ll be the new hated team for their physical defense. It’s loser behavior without any upside. Nothing is changing until your team beats OKC. Talk about the sport, how that can happen, adjustments to make.
We are seriously doing this over a game where New York played great defense on Shai, contained him as good as anyone has this season and he shot 7FTs (1 tech foul and 2 via a non-shooting foul in the bonus trip)
Think it’s also time for OKC to just stop engaging and feeling the need to defend. It’s political at this point you’re never changing anyone’s mind.
Mark, I know this was pre Luka Trade so a lot has happened since then, as a reminder: Jalen Williams (Jdub) was drafted to Oklahoma City via the Clippers pick.
Dear pro sports leagues: Looking forward to seeing you release statements & send condolences to Charlie Kirk’s family after he was murdered for his political beliefs. You know - kinda like you did when career criminal George Floyd died. @NFL@NBA@WNBA@MLB@NHL
Appreciate the @Yankees for holding a moment of silence tonight.
Fanum responds to all the rumors of him allegedly being kicked out of AMP 👀
“this all imma say… I built this shi brick by brick… I could never get kicked out”
Steve Nash and Cam Johnson talked about the discourse around SGA and 'foul baiting' and it's probably the best, most nuanced conversation I've heard about the topic @OldManAndThree
