We have spent all of our lunch time with each other-in total it’s been 2.5 hours on a lockdown. That is a long time to feel the stress of gun violence.

Hillsboro High School is one mile away from Covenant, a private Christian school down the street from us in Nashville. Our school has been on lockdown since 10:20. We had just gotten back from all being outside during a fire drill. Please hold your loved ones close today.

I learned that students on the bus that were escorted off of the bus from Covenant to Woodmont were singing on the bus.
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy.

Please pray for #nashville families. I teach down the street on Hillsboro Pike and around 10:30 our students had just come back inside from a fire drill. We started hearing the sirens about 5 minutes after we had transitioned back into our classrooms.

It’s 12:48 and there are still sirens we are hearing on the street outside on Hillsboro Pike. Unmarked police vehicles and the first responders are still going up and down. Parents are picking up children down the street at Woodmont Baptist.

Give students a question, scaffold with a vocab word to explain what a word in question means, and provide opportunity for student to use that definition in their response to form their reasoning.
