@ali_ali_369963 @mamattingly@mehdirhasan@kurtbardella @GOPLeader All three of these examples contradict your definition of false flag. They all involve parties intentionally representing their actions as those of another party while committing the act in order to cast blame.
@ali_ali_369963 @mamattingly@mehdirhasan@kurtbardella @GOPLeader I'm sorry, that's just not what that means.
In the RT'd video MTG even says the shootings on the 4th sound like they are designed to get Rs to go along with more gun control. She does not say the narrative is being used that way.
@AlmaGayle @Jossfjh @Chris3536774357 @TaraMaddock As in, if constitutional scholars said "the constitution forbids the states from making laws regarding abortion" and the states said "sure, but why would we?"
@AlmaGayle @Jossfjh @Chris3536774357 @TaraMaddock I happen to disagree with the SCOTUS ruling and with state abortion laws on many aspects! But I think we have to discuss both to have meaningful discourse. The SCOTUS ruling wouldn't be as big an issue if the states didn't have the laws.
@libilou @Jossfjh @Chris3536774357 @TaraMaddock I don't think the state of Utah should decide either of those things for either of us. I also don't think the constitution grants the federal government the right to decide whether or not Utah can. That's my entire point. Change the laws in Utah or change the constitution.
@mmbaxendell @Jossfjh @Chris3536774357 @TaraMaddock I respectfully submit that I say "state's rights" as shorthand for "laws the people of states are allowed to have under the constitution". Women are people living in those states. I do not separate womens' rights from states' rights in that context.
@mmbaxendell @Jossfjh @Chris3536774357 @TaraMaddock My only point is that the constitution is old, and SCOTUS is the "guardian and interpreter of the Constitution". I feel like people are too focused on SCOTUS and missing the conversation about state laws and/or constitutional amendments.
@Jossfjh @Chris3536774357 @TaraMaddock I think you're disagreeing with me like I'm "on the other side" when I'm really not.
My point was actually that SCOTUS should never have been involved in the decision, which seems to agree with your view.
Focus your passion on the lawmakers, not the courts.
@AlpacaAurelius@MelonieMac Humans selectively breed cattle and subject them to an unnatural lifecycle optimized for beef production for our consumption. This "cows are nature" argument is a clear strawman.
I'm not taking sides, I'm just saying improve your discourse.
