@YeahItsAhNo While she definitely pushed off on the rebound, she actually didn’t travel on this one. The 1-2 skip happens after a gather step, it’s just hard to see the last dribble beforehand. She does travel on about 50% of her post possessions but gotta be fair in criticism too.
@thehazelmae This reads somewhat like damage control. when the leader of a team with the biggest contract is playing significantly below average accompanied by low effort base running, Kirk and the entire organization should be visibly upset.
@jasonwhitlock Problem with ignoring the fact she’s top 3 in 3PA/G and most viewers would likely agree that she experiences more aggressive close-outs, even barring the illegal ones, than most guards due to her propensity for quick OTD shots and fewer opportunities for open or kick out 3s.
@seeratsohi One of the best commentaries I’ve seen on the WNBA and the cultural dynamics impacting the perception of the players and league at large. Well done!
@othersidedj While I agree wholeheartedly that this instance is simply the dam breaking from too many similar incidents, Lexi actually tripped CC, as can be seen by her lead foot getting caught on Lexi’s right foot. So there’s multiple egregious miscalls, which should be the focus.
@TonyREast It’s becoming clear that Caitlin is having more issues with the mental side of her injuries than the physical injury itself; lost confidence in her body and playing through contact with incompetent refereeing. Tough year for cc, can’t believe how well she’s still performed.
@JahKaze Lexi’s foot hits Clark’s lead foot during the drive, leading to the original fall. Otherwise, I agree the bigots coming out of the woodworks to use this as a talking point really need to have their internet access restricted.
@chayim30@LoLoByke In the case of unecessary contact deemed a dangerous act, within the context of the prior game’s conflict, a suspension is absolutely expected. Also, how her fist ended up on Clark’s neck does not really matter, just as other flagrant contact doesn’t require intent
@thepostwire Hooking, elbows to the chest and above the shoulders, pushing stationary defenders by dropping her shoulder, and the unmentioned and ever consistent travelling represent the bulk of her offensive “bag work”. You are clearly a new “fan” to the sport, but good work deflecting!
