I want to start by saying this: I actually love flying Delta. I’ve chosen them for years because I’ve consistently had great experiences.
That’s why this situation is frustrating.
On a recent flight into Salt Lake City, a Delta agent required our laptops to be removed from the seat pocket and placed in the overhead bin. He cited some recent event in the Netherlands where there was turbulence and electronics flew everywhere and it was dangerous. Because putting them above us is outside our normal routine (we always keep them with us), we forgot to grab them when we exited.
Totally human mistake.
I waited on hold with Delta support for 4 hours to figure out next step. We filed a lost item claim immediately. I went to the airport after nobody picked up, and they said it wasn't in their system yet. It’s now been 3 days with no update. I filed another complaint with no luck.
Here’s the hard part: Apple “Find My” shows both laptops actively sitting inside SLC airport right now. We have live GPS confirmation that they’re there.
We’ve called. We’ve filed the claim. We’ve waited.
Still nothing.
I still believe Delta is a great airline — which is why I’m surprised this hasn’t been resolved quickly.
What would you do in this situation to get your laptops back?
I'm planning to go back over there today, but after already wasting 1 1/2 hours last time, I am hoping I can get some confirmation that they will give them back to us.
Tagging in hopes this reaches the right people:
@Delta Air Lines
@saltlalkecityinternationalairport
If anyone has advice on how to escalate this properly or get connected to the right person at SLC, I’d appreciate it. We just want our property back.
Thanks in advance for any help.

How we went from getting shut down by the city to turning the rental into $2,200 a month cash flow machine.

Who says opera houses are just for music? We turned the Oslo Norway Opera House into our personal scooter park! 😂🎶
Zooming around with the kids, soaking up the views, and maybe (just maybe) pretending we were in an action movie. 🎬💨

💸 I'll never forget the day I lost $40,000 on a deal.
My contractor went MIA. The city shut us down for permit issues. Hard money costs were eating me alive.
I had two choices:
Let my lenders foreclose and destroy my reputation
Take responsibility and protect the people who trusted me
I chose #2. Wrote a check for $40,000 at closing. Paid my lenders their full return PLUS interest.
Was it painful? Absolutely.
Was it worth it? 100%.
Since then lenders have funded millions in deals for me. Your reputation is EVERYTHING in this business.
Other people's money is sacred. Treat it that way.

While exploring Batu Caves in Malaysia, we unexpectedly found ourselves right in the middle of a Hindu worship service! 🕉️🌿
It was mesmerizing—the music, the rituals, and the sheer energy. And while we were definitely the unexpected guests, we felt so welcomed into the moment. 🌏🎉
