Among the many things Grandma Kitty shared with Steph Curry tonight after the game at Barclays, one of my faves is a Mother’s Day card she received from her family. It read:

“Happy Mother’s Day mom. Thank you for teaching us to love God, each other, and Steph Curry.”

Enjoy!

BREAKING: Oklahoma City's Jalen Williams has a dislocated left ankle and fractured fibula; Cason Wallace has a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Both will undergo surgery and be sidelined for several months -- most, if not the entire season.

can confirm!

BLOCK PARTY HISTORY 🔥

With 14 rejections and counting vs Atlanta, Kiah Stokes moved past Sylvia Fowles and Brittney Griner last time out for the most blocks in a WNBA Finals series!

It’s interesting that so many are shocked the daytime option is where they landed. I’ve been telling @NekiasNBA this is a possible option for a while now that I thought would be considered strongly.

Women's college basketball is going to get a mega-matchup early on network television.

@GamecockWBB vs. @USCWBB will be on ABC on Nov. 15. That game features WNBA first round prospects all over the court led by JuJu Watkins.

[Natalie Esquire @natfluential]

And as part of the NBC broadcast team that had to maneuver around these tight windows on Saturday, it’s a bit hectic but it was feasible. And we did it and got it done effectively. Most of the people crying over this aren’t even actually impacted.

[Natalie Esquire @natfluential]

The players are pleased they get to play at State Farm, so I’m gonna take my lead from them.

Yes, timing has to go perfectly, but the workers practiced before they did it on Saturday, then actually executed it on Saturday, so I think they will be pros at it by Thursday.

[Natalie Esquire @natfluential]

Everyone comes out the woodwork to punch down on the WNBA the moment they can but won’t speak on the league otherwise.

And if everything works out on Thursday, which is possible, they’ll remain in obscurity and won’t publicly say they were wrong.

USA Sports announces that its coverage of Game 6 will simulcast on E! and Syfy.

Syfy has carried a Premier League match on Championship Sunday most years, and has aired WWE events during the Olympics, but this appears to be the first live basketball game to air on the channel.

Had these requests been made a few weeks ago… or even a week ago, sounds like more could’ve been done. The issues with the Friday/Tuesday construction were 3 days between Games 5/6 AND 6/7, plus concerns about playing on Election Night and logistical issues of moving two Finals games.

[Natalie Esquire @natfluential]

@ryanthomas88882 Yes, that’s exactly what I said. Reading comprehension is at an all time low. It’s really sad.

[Natalie Esquire @natfluential]

I think these are the worst possible outcomes but not the most likely outcomes.

[Kenzo Fukuda @kenzofuku]

The WNBA is really setting themselves up for a worst of both worlds with this plan.

The timing harms the TV ratings in both markets, not certain the Atlanta home crowd fills the stadium on a weekday AND you might be crowning a champion at 3:30pm (or noon in the Bay Area).

[Natalie Esquire @natfluential]

@NoaDalzell @WNBAonCLNS I think State Farm is still the better option.

[Natalie Esquire @natfluential]

@chelsealeite The USA set up likely will not be on the court but up in the stands, so they could probably do some player interviews there still without issue or have a set up on the practice court for addt’l player interviews if needed. We just did this for NBC. It’s tight but feasible.

[Natalie Esquire @natfluential]

@chelsealeite I think what would likely happen is the trophy presentation would be on the court but any extended celebrations would move over to the practice court.

In a way that already happens now. With the Commissioner’s Cup, when NY won this year, it continued to the practice court.

[Natalie Esquire @natfluential]

@SheKnowsSports Lmao exactly

[Terrika @SheKnowsSports]

Already 28,000 people in the queue?… Wow. I had and I have no doubt that game will be sold out.
