@CEHday Looking ahead to World Children’s Day on November 20, our @acopphe team is planning to host an event in Azerbaijan at COP29 to raise awareness about the nexus between child health and climate action.
We’ve only just begun and the best is surely yet to come!
#CEHchat Q7: How are you and/or your organization working to build children’s resilience and address children’s mental health impacts from environmental and climate-related impacts?
#CEHchat Q6: What are some promising policies, practices, or initiatives underway to address environmental and climate change-related children’s mental health concerns and build and support their resilience? What resources would you like to elevate?
@CEHday …This is a vital lesson for all of us in the modern world as we face the consequences of our actions and inactions—including climate disruptions and severe environmental degradation.
@CEHday I am a firm believer that we need to give credit where credit is due—in this context, this means that we need to recognize that Indigenous peoples have seen, and continue to see, themselves as part of nature.
@CEHday I am encouraged that holistic health frames such as Planetary Health, One Health, and Climate and Health are gaining traction and helping to showcase the absolute inseparability of human health from our shared natural environment.
#CEHchat Q5: What policies, practices, or initiatives are needed to address the mental health impacts of environmental & climate hazards on children in under-resourced communities? In Black, Brown, & Indigenous communities? Linguistically isolated communities? Rural communities?
@CEHday Negative environmental exposures like pollution has lifelong effects and impacts both on individuals and society.
This is unacceptable from a child rights and human rights perspective.
