Imagine this is how Dak Prescott’s story ends.

Super Bowl. Cowboys vs. Bills.

Dallas down 4. :06 left.

Dak takes the snap from the 12.

Nothing is open.

He steps up and runs.

At the 4-yard line, he gets HIT.

Two Bills defenders wrap him up. Another comes crashing down on top.

Dak keeps his legs moving, but he’s stopped.

Four yards away.

And for a second, it looks like this is really how it ends.

Then CeeDee Lamb hits the pile from behind.

Jake Ferguson joins him.

Tyler Smith.

Terence Steele.

The entire Cowboys offense comes crashing forward.

The pile moves a yard.

Then another.

And suddenly it feels like Dak isn’t being pushed by just the eleven men on the field anymore.

It’s Ezekiel Elliott pushing.

Zack Martin.

Tyron Smith.

DeMarcus Lawrence.

Amari Cooper.

Michael Gallup.

Leighton Vander Esch.

Trevon Diggs.

Every teammate who stood beside him through those playoff losses. Every Cowboy who walked off the field with him when another season ended too soon.

They’re all pushing.

3-yard line.

Dak is still fighting.

And now it feels like Tony Romo is pushing too.

Dez Bryant.

Jason Witten.

The generation before him that came so close but never got its ending.

One yard.

The entire history of the last 30 years of Cowboys heartbreak is behind No. 4.

Pushing.

Dak reaches the football out.

The clock hits 00:00.

The official looks into the pile…

then raises both arms.

TOUCHDOWN.

For his entire career, Dak Prescott carried the weight of the Dallas Cowboys on his back.

On the final play of his story, when he couldn’t carry them any farther…

they carried him.

Across the goal line.

Into history.

Dak Prescott is a Super Bowl champion.

@rjochoa Dak Prescott has never lost a game in which the Cowboys defense allowed zero points. That’s a historical statistic nobody wants to discuss.
