implementation science wonk & deputy director @cycprovidence. advancing clinical & wellbeing outcomes with children-youth-families-community. we must do better.
@NBC10 While this is critical to report, the incredible gains @ridcyf has and is making, leading the way across all public systems in the State, is the story that everyone needs to hear.
A for profit health care system will never align with our physical health wellbeing. Healthy us will never (ever) generate enough revenue - while we’re here, health insurance should never be tied to employment.
Millions across the country are discovering just how much their plans will cost as open enrollment for Affordable Care Act insurance plans began on Nov. 1. Enrollment lasts through Jan. 15, 2026. https://t.co/gngZkK9QoU
Providence has tooo many parking spots and lots. More importantly this well laid bait generated an incredible Providence whines list that would give Bottles a run for their money.
@TedNesi@CAndrewMorse Direct funding here. Our payment is over a week late (which we can handle, harder for others), just moved into the “in transit” stage, which means it’s imminent - also receiving legal status from the feds as it’s being made available.
Big D democrats, they’ve been here. The esoteric wing of the Democratic Party is somehow still blaming others for having their “democracy” repeatedly wrestled away from them without much of a fight. Whose priorities are you representing with this narrative?
Our Democratic Party has been heavily taken over by a group of conservatives who want us to cave to the Republicans on every issue. A group that despises Democratic voters for our progressive values. “The establishment” gives them too much credit. What should we call them?
The community should determine/set the deliverables that the City needs to meet. “Increase” isn’t a measurement. Suspensions data dropped magically when auto suspensions weren’t allowed. Ridiculous policy shifts can deliver “increases” in anything - laughable.
It took the Smiley administration the entire school year to come up with eight obvious metrics to judge the success of the state takeover. Planning for return is crucial. But this could have been drafted in 5 minutes, 5 years ago.

@BillBartholomew That is a great list, Bill. It was an incredible national network that communicated via Maximum Rock and Roll, show posters, and word of mouth.
Moved from VT to CT late in high school, Was in Providence at least 2x a month on weekends. Babyhead & Living Room were incredible. National bands touring, Providence was hot. Hardcore, Punk, Ska, alternative, emerging hip hop, RISD was still weird, tunnel parties, incredible.
It appears as though Providence is losing 3 of its mid-size original music venues. There are several reasons for this, which I will touch on in an upcoming podcast. Bottom line: indie music used to be quasi-mainstream, like college basketball or something. Today, it is closer to professional bowling. Major artists are struggling to tour across the country, leaving the industry or shifting to part time/local. The magic of Pitchfork/MySpace is ancient history. The creative space has shifted to TikTok. Covid was the final deathblow for a lot of original music. Content has replaced art. I am thankful to have found a lane or two to exist in as an original artist, but know that the pathway is nothing like it was just a few years ago when silverteeth was touring full time. Some folks will blame the audience for “not supporting live music”, but the reality is that, the sands have shifted out from under the medium and innovation and shapeshifting, and most of all, staying authentic, is the key to where music goes in the coming decade.
Just checking in to make sure we’d have the same outcry and responsiveness if a closed highway was rerouting all traffic through Upper/Lower Southside.

Your Thursday reminder that in the political arena the word “progressive” is dead, bury it. It means nothing & everything to everyone. Can’t coalesce around a moving target, those of you still using as a litmus test, imagine what you’d be able to move if you weren’t doing that.
@SamGHoward Heard & agree. That star has died, just waiting to go dark, Move before we freeze. We’re far more polarized than the Rs, self cannibalizing, gotta close those gaps. Want a tent for big/lill Ds, communists, socialists, anti-capitalists, greens, revolutionists, all of it.
Happy first day of school for Kindergarten and Grades 1, 6, & 9! Thanks to all families for how you support your children and to all @CranstonSchools educators who are always busy preparing our students to be the best they can be!
