After hitting just .143 in 26 games for the Rockies, former Brave superstar Dale Murphy retires from baseball. The two-time National League MVP leaves the game with a career average of .265, 398 home runs, and 1,266 RBIs.
This legend pitched for 19 seasons with multiple teams. He made his MLB debut with the NY Yankees in 1987 and posted a career 162-132 record. He is a 3-time WS champion and even threw a no-hitter in 1996. He currently serves as an advisor for baseball operations with the NY Mets.
