His name belongs up there with the likes of Casey Kasem, Tony Blackburn and our own Venu Chitale. Sayani Saab did not only Binaca Geetmala for 42 years also Maratha Durbar shows for almost 15 years and many more. His series of radio plays Swanaash for AIDS awareness was remarkable. Rest in Peace. Sometimes people try to be considerate and offer to go to a vegan-friendly restaurant for me. But I'm not concerned about what I can eat.

I struggle to witness people I deeply care about consuming the flesh of sentient beings I aim to protect.

It's sad to observe compassionate people claiming to adore animals and do anything for their pets, yet turning a blind eye to their suffering in the food industry.

📢We say nice-sounding words like #love, #peace, #yoga, #consciousness, #spirituality, #strength, #rationality, #god, #science, etc. until it comes to eating animals 🙈🙉

Then we use any excuse to justify harming "some" animals, only because we don't want to face the misalignment between our actions and values. We don't want to admit we were wrong.

I was wrong. I admit it. I grew up indoctrinated to not see this hypocrisy. I suffered from cognitive dissonance and #speciesism. I loved meat so much that I found any excuse to avoid going vegan. I was scared to let go of my favorite foods.

Today my only regret is that I didn't go vegan sooner. And btw, I eat vegan version of anything I used to eat!

If I could do it, you can too.
