@atflorio Ratel destroyed this series. Used to go to Mosport, Lime Rock, and sometimes Mid Ohio, every year because it was so good. GTS/TC was great too. Now there’s no competition left for IMSA in the US
@LanzaroteCamel@Heart_Of_Racing@IMSARadio It’s the way the car had to be homologated to limit the downforce it would otherwise create from its ground effect tunnels. Same reason all cars have ride height minimums
@Matthew_MKE@A_S12@IMSA@IMSA refuses the call for slow zones and treats every minor incident everything like it’s a toxic waste spill, sending 10 clean up trucks out onto the track
@s_miernicki@A_S12@IMSA Yeah it the worst it’s ever been there this year. It’s the track’s fault and also due to the lack of trees/shade near the fence line, an issue many tracks have such as Watkins Glen
@evanr2249@trevorrl412@TylerWong65 Hmm, no idea. A bad choice on the race track? It’s a not a sport where drivers can do whatever they want and expect to remain unhurt, unless you want massive parking lot style tracks that Tilke designs for F1 and nobody wants to watch
@evanr2249@trevorrl412@TylerWong65 You have no clue what you’re talking about. Crashes and freak accidents happen at every race track. Indycar also provided little to no practice time for Pocono vs Indy, which was not the track’s fault. Attendance at Pocono increased steadily year over year
@EricHedlun42332@IndyCar He’s off track in the runoff area. A local yellow to see if he at least get the car going again makes sense. An immediate FCY would be a knee jerk reaction.
@atflorio P2 was great at that point. Wish they’d make the prototypes wider again. The cars have looked a bit off, proportionally, even since the regs forced a narrow width. The reduced width also has to hurt the mechanical grip, which can’t be beneficial for the racing product.
@treygaudette @hypezzyy@onlyendurance@Lamborghini@LamborghiniSC Yeah just a goofy decision. May as well run Daytona, even if you feel like you’re not fully prepared. There’s no replacement for “pressure testing” the car like going through a real race.
