The Canada Day gun salute by the 7th Toronto Regiment was a well-received ceremonial event. As a reserve unit, some degree of flexibility in drill standards is understandable. Nevertheless, ceremonial duties of this nature should reflect a high standard of discipline and precision.

Proper military marching is important because it demonstrates discipline, professionalism, and unit cohesion. Marching in synchronized step reflects the ability of soldiers to work together as a single, coordinated team, following commands precisely and maintaining attention to detail. While drill has little direct application on the modern battlefield, it develops habits of obedience, self-discipline, and confidence that carry over into operational duties. During public ceremonies, parades, and commemorative events, precise marching also projects a positive image of the armed forces, honors military tradition, and shows respect for the occasion and those being recognized. Consistent, well-executed drill is therefore both a symbol of military excellence and an expression of pride in the profession of arms.

The 7th marching, in particular, lacked synchronization. Most of the participants were experienced soldiers, many wearing rank chevrons, so a more coordinated performance would reasonably be expected. Ceremonies such as this should be rehearsed sufficiently to ensure that movements are executed uniformly.

The hot and humid Toronto weather undoubtedly made conditions uncomfortable, especially while wearing ceremonial uniforms. However, the weather alone does not account for basic drill errors. Maintaining step and cadence is one of the fundamental skills taught during Basic Military Qualification, and recruits are generally expected to master it within the first few weeks of training.

Overall, while the gun salute itself was successfully conducted, the drill performance suggests that the 7th Toronto Regiment would benefit from additional ceremonial drill practice. Improved synchronization and attention to detail would enhance the professionalism and appearance of future public ceremonies. (video credit as shown)

Panie Prezydencie Zełenski, problem nie polega na „sprzecznych interpretacjach trudnej historii”. Problem polega na tym, że państwo ukraińskie oddaje dziś hołd formacji i ludziom odpowiedzialnym za ludobójstwo na Polakach.

To nie były abstrakcyjne „niewinne ofiary XX wieku”. To byli konkretni polscy cywile: dzieci, kobiety, starcy, księża, całe rodziny i całe wsie. Mordowano ich nocą w domach, napadano na bezbronnych, zabijano podczas Mszy Świętych, palono w zabudowaniach, dobijano tych, którzy próbowali uciekać. To nie była walka armii z armią. To była zaplanowana eksterminacja ludności cywilnej w sposób zwierzęcy.

Polski Sejm i IPN mówią jasno: była to zbrodnia ludobójstwa dokonana przez UKRAIŃCÓW z OUN i UPA na obywatelach II Rzeczypospolitej. Szacuje się, że zamordowano około 100 tysięcy Polaków.

Dlatego Order Orła Białego nie może być symbolem wdzięczności wobec polityki, która toleruje kult UPA, blokuje pełną prawdę, utrudnia ekshumacje i pozwala na znieważanie pamięci polskich ofiar. Sejm RP podkreślał, że pojednanie musi obejmować uznanie win, ekshumacje, godny pochówek i upamiętnienie ofiar.

Polska pomagała Ukrainie jak mało kto. Ale polska pomoc nie oznacza zgody na deptanie polskiej pamięci. Nie oznacza milczenia wobec gloryfikacji ludobójców. Nie oznacza przyzwolenia na to, by mordercy polskich dzieci byli przedstawiani jako bohaterowie.

Chcecie szacunku? Zacznijcie od szacunku dla prawdy. Zacznijcie od zgody na ekshumacje. Zacznijcie od grobów, krzyży i modlitwy dla pomordowanych Polaków.

Bez prawdy o Wołyniu nie będzie prawdziwego pojednania.

ihr werdet in schätzungsweise 3-5 Tagen wieder erbärmlich jammern, wenn die Retourkutsche von #Russland für den heutigen Angriff auf #Moskau kommt.
Ihr könnt jetzt auch gerne damit kommen, dass die #Ukraine das Recht hat sich zu verteidigen - das streite ich auch nicht ab. Ebenso streite ich nicht ab, dass Russland 2022 den Krieg begonnen hat. Mir geht es nur darum, dass ihr nicht begreift dass die Gewaltspirale sich immer weiter und schneller dreht, und dass solche Angriffe nur weiter eskalieren, aber kein Problem lösen und Russland auch zu nichts bewegen werden - außer dass es immer schlimmer wird für die Menschen in der Ukraine.
Jeder Tote ist einer zu viel, egal ob Russe oder Ukrainer. Die Lösung kann ausschließlich Diplomatie heißen, und da muss man die Realität auch mal akzeptieren - nämlich dass Russland niemals auf die besetzten Gebiete im Osten der Ukraine verzichten wird.
Und wenn das nicht anerkannt wird, niemand mal mit Putin spricht, gibt es zwei Dinge, von denen eines mindestens passieren wird: entweder Europa wird mit in den Krieg reingezogen, und/oder es eskaliert so sehr, dass irgendwann jemand den roten Knopf drückt.
So, jetzt Feuer frei für euch, beleidigt mich, kommentiert mit euren komischen Bildern die ich schon tausendmal gesehen habe, oder was auch immer. Interessiert mich nicht, stört mich nicht.

Merz hat Deutschland mit den Milliarden-Geschenken an die korrupte Selenskyj-Regierung zum Hauptfinanzier des Ukraine-Kriegs gemacht. Das ist nicht nur eine irre Veruntreuung von Steuergeld, sondern auch brandgefährlich! Schließlich greift die Ukraine aktuell vermehrt Ziele im russischen Hinterland an, was ohne die finanzielle und technologische Unterstützung aus Deutschland so nicht möglich wäre.
