Play teaches us to notice when people are treated differently both in good & bad ways. Play, in pairs or groups, also teaches us to see people as equals – we learn to cooperate and integrate our own skills, identities, & knowledge into the experience to succeed. #WePlayChat
@USPlayCoalition A2: In recreation, it can be difficult to get volunteers (especially adult volunteers). However, many high school students who have participated in our programs are interested in volunteering as they enjoyed their time and want to keep the fun going! #WePlayChat
@USPlayCoalition#weplaychat Q2: Volunteers can be anyone (and any age) that understand and value PLAY and recognize that their role as volunteers is creating opportunity for play, not dictating or directing the experience
@BVDsport_rec @USPlayCoalition I agree, BUT the novelty of bigger and better is key for attracting people to a specific play event. Bigger and better doesn't have to mean more expensive though :) #weplaychat
@USPlayCoalition A1: Sometimes in recreation, we get too caught up with "bigger and better" and "we need more stuff to draw people" but there are plenty of opportunities to play just at parks and playgrounds. Elements of play are all around us! #WePlayChat
