Why does a 3-phase motor have 6 terminals but only 3 supply wires?

(A must watch for all engineers)

A 3-phase motor has 6 terminals because both ends of its three windings are accessible. This allows Star or Delta connections by changing the terminal links.

#WATCH | Shimla, Himachal Pradesh: On regime change, Former Union Minister and Congress leader Anand Sharma says, "... In democracies, governments remain in office because of the people's trust and votes. Governments change in democracies; they come and go through the electoral process, when people vote a government out if they are dissatisfied with it. We have a legal framework and a constitutional framework. So, anyone talking about regime change is wrong. Democracies function through the ballot. Regime change is different. When we talk about a regime, we are referring to the entire framework, including the Constitution. How can that be changed? We are defending and protecting it. That includes the constitutional rights of the citizens of India. This term is being used loosely, and one has to be careful. Democracies function in a defined manner. India has its institutions. The Supreme Court is one, the Election Commission is another, and we also have Parliament and the Constitution. That is why we are the world's largest democracy and a republic. These are built-in mechanisms. That is how the system works. We need not sensationalise the issue. There is a government in office, and the government has to recognise the ground reality. It is the people's right, when they vote, to decide which government to elect and which party or government to reject. You are the world's largest democracy. Yes, we are, and we should remain so. That is why the credibility of the electoral system must be restored."

High BP can damage your brain without warning

🔸In the last couple of weeks, unfortunately, we had a series of young people presenting to the emergency department with BRAIN HEMORRHAGE (Bleeding in brain tissue).

🔸They were previously healthy; they did not smoke or drink and there was no family history of stroke.

🔴The common risk factor in all of them was Hypertension (high blood pressure).

🔸High blood pressure can silently damage your brain, heart and kidneys, even when you feel perfectly healthy.
🔸The dangerous part is that you may have no symptoms.

FIVE things everyone should know:
1. Don’t wait for a headache to check BP.
2. Measure it correctly and repeat abnormal readings.
3. Reduce excess salt and ultra-processed foods.
4. Exercise regularly and sleep adequately.
5. If BP remains high, don’t ignore it; or stop prescribed medicines on your own. Consult your doctor.

❓When did you last check your BP?
Repost this. Someone in your family may need the reminder.
