I did a thing, spoke about work stuff with some pretty cool folks, it was on TV, and you should probably watch it if you were born on/after 1997 because I was probably (not intentionally) speaking on your behalf.
So um, do you think I’m ‘right’?

York University is third largest university in Canada. @YorkUPresident is chair of @OntUniv The massive restructuring of academic programs and work undertaken at #YorkU will come to every university in the province if we do not fight for free and accessible higher ed.

The court has ordered that the U of T encampment for 🇵🇸 be dismantled by 6 PM tomorrow. I had hoped that, in weighing harm, the complicity in genocide would have been considered more significant than students using a section of greenery as a protest tactic against said complicity
Breathtaking mismanagement at the University of Guelph leaves 1300 new students who were promised residence, without a place to live.
Those responsible should be given the boot. We’ve been documenting the relationship between the affordable housing crisis and Universities increasing enrolment in the absence of new housing for over two years now. This is just wilful neglect or deep ignorance at this point.
It will deepen the housing crisis in Guelph for those most vulnerable to homelessness. Housing is a system. Parents from other elsewhere will now fight tooth and nail - and will spend what they need to spend - to access housing for their kids (as they should - what else are they going to do?).
Those in Guelph on a fixed income, or vulnerable to homelessness, become more vulnerable when supply is tightened so dramatically. This terrible mismanagement will reverberate throughout this small city, and in the lives of those most vulnerable.

YUFA demands that York University and Toronto Police respect freedom of assembly and political speech on the York University Campus https://t.co/xq7yY0xeFP
Thus far, 50 @YorkUniversity professors have signed this Open Letter to @YorkUPresident & the York Board of Governors denouncing the decision to enlist police to raid the @PYU4P Gaza solidarity encampment on June 6. 🧵The letter is open for signature here: https://t.co/cRew5gCZCQ
The encampment was not removed peacefully or with the consent of the students. Instead, the York University administration requested the assistance of the Toronto Police Service to forcibly clear the site. Dozens of police attended & we understand at least one arrest was effected
York University has a false label of being “radical” — even as the university has a long history of violent repression of Palestine solidarity.
Any claim of “radicalism” must first recognize colonialism, ethnic cleansing, and genocide as human, moral, ethical, and legal wrongs:
