Founder @ Novura Studios.
Shipping Software for Startups & Enterprises.
Writing about Engineering, AI systems, and what it actually takes to build things.
Hi,
I'm Muhammad Naveed Aslam
Founder @ Novura Studios
Here's everything you need to know about us:
What we do:
We build production-grade software for startups and enterprises like:
• Web Applications
• Mobile Applications, iOS and Android
• AI Systems, RAG, Custom Support Agents, Chatbots
• Cloud Infrastructures
• Custom Business Solutions
Not demos or prototypes,
Software that ships, scales, and lasts.
How we’re different:
We embed a dedicated squad of senior specialists including:
• UX
• Strategy
• QA
• Growth
• Security
One consistent team.
One clear outcome.
No surprises.
The numbers:
• 8-week average to first production deployment
• 98% partner satisfaction
What clients say:
"What two prior agencies couldn’t do in nine months, Novura delivered in eight weeks."
Co-founder & CTO, Series A SaaS
Who we work with:
• Startups that need to ship fast without cutting corners
• Enterprises replacing fragile legacy systems
• Founders who’ve been burned before and now demand it done right
What I share here:
Real Engineering decisions that matter,
What “production-grade” actually means,
And the gap between agencies that talk and ones that ship.
Important:
If you're building something important and want a true engineering partner, feel free to reach out.

Requirements will change.
Pretending otherwise is why projects blow up.
At Novura Studios,
We build in thin slices with seams where change is likely.
And we protect the outcome, not the planning.

How do you measure whether an AI feature is actually getting better?
If the answer is 'It feels better,' that's the problem.
Genuinely curious what people track 👇
#AI#LLM#machinelearning
@getnachonacho Thanks,
We keep it simple and transparent.
At Novura Studios,
We use a value-vs-effort matrix in Notion.
Everything is scored openly with the team so the ranking is visible and debateable.
No silent trade-offs.
A fixed budget means cut scope, not corners.
Rank scope by value.
The budget buys the top of the list fully, not the whole list poorly.
No silent sacrifices.

'The AI will figure it out.'
AI doesn't understand your goal.
It pattern-matches.
Point it at a vague problem and you get confident nonsense.
So,
You still have to know exactly what you want.
#AI#product#development
You know the 'Moment'.
Someone on your team spends half their week copying data from one tool into another.
Another person rewrites a process just so it fits the software you bought last year.
That’s not efficiency.
That’s the quiet signal you’ve outgrown off-the-shelf.
The companies that scale past this don’t try to force every tool to do everything.
They buy the common.
And they build their edge.

The boring stuff no one celebrates at the launch:
1. Did we load test it?
2. Do errors fail gracefully?
3. Are monitoring and alerts actually set up?
4. Can we roll back in under a minute?
5. Have the backups been restored successfully?
6. Did someone walk the critical path end-to-end?
That unglamorous checklist is the only real gap between a clean launch and an incident.
#software #devops
What unglamorous feature unlocked your biggest deals?
For a lot of B2B, it’s:
1. SSO
2. Roles,
3. Or a proper audit trail.
The boring stuff IT demands before they’ll sign.
What was yours? 👇

Arguments in Software are always about one undefined word: 'DONE'.
Engineer says a feature is done.
Founder tries it, says it's clearly not done.
Neither is lying.
As,
1. To the engineer, 'DONE' = the code works for the main case.
2. To the founder, it = works for real users, on real devices, edges handled.
Both are reasonable definitions.
The problem is nobody made them explicit, so everyone assumed their own.
The fix is almost embarrassingly simple: define the 'DONE' before you start.
a) Tested?
b) Deployed?
c) Handles bad input?
d) Reviewed?
Now 'DONE' is a checklist, not an opinion.
Vague finish lines cause most of the friction in a build.
A shared definition removes it.

Everyone plans how data comes 'IN',
Almost nobody plans how it leaves.
Can your system actually delete a user completely?
Most can't.
Data you can't cleanly delete is a growing liability.
#software#dataprivacy
A vague specification gets a vague product.
Lead with the WHY.
Describe outcomes, not screens.
And include the unhappy paths.
A team that understands the 'WHY', makes 100 small decisions RIGHT.

When your app feels slow, look at the database first.
Because,
1. Your code runs in memory (fast).
2. And the database finds and reads data (the real time).
Usually a missing index, not a bigger server.

Google’s Gemini 4 Argon is live.
It’s built for the hard, long-horizon stuff: Real Software Engineering, Legal/Finance work, and Cybersecurity.
The race just got more interesting.
Who’s already testing it?
#GoogleAI
Your app isn't slow everywhere.
It's slow in 3 specific places, and you probably haven't measured those.
When something's slow, teams reach for big answers: rewrite in a faster language, add servers, adopt heavy new tech.
Almost always unnecessary.
Performance follows a brutal 80/20.
Most slowness is a tiny number of culprits.
So the first move isn't to optimize. It's to MEASURE. Intuition about performance is reliably wrong.
9/10 times it's small: a missing index, a query loading 10k rows to use 10, a call repeated in a loop.
Fix those and the whole system gets faster.
No rewrite required.

'Let's add AI to the product.'
Add AI to WHAT?
The answer is:
Start with the job a user's trying to do and where they waste the most time.
The best AI feature might be a boring classifier that deletes hours of manual work.
#AI#productengineering
Caching is EASY.
Knowing when to throw it away is the actual job.
Adding a cache feels like free speed.
Store the expensive result, serve it fast next time. Delightful demo.
Then the underlying data changes and the cache doesn't know. Users see stale info. A price updates, someone sees the old one.
A permission is revoked but the cached version still grants access. Now you're fast and confidently wrong.
Fast and wrong is often worse than slow and right.
So caching is a design decision, not a quick win.
Decide up front how each piece of data goes stale and refreshes.
Get the invalidation right, or don't cache it.

'It's all in my head' is a single point of failure that happens to be a person.
It creeps up quietly.
One person builds the core, knows every corner, is fast because they never explain anything.
Everyone celebrates their productivity.
All the knowledge lives in exactly one undocumented place.
Then they take a vacation.
Or get sick. Or take a better offer, with the map to your whole system.
Suddenly nobody can safely change the thing your business runs on. Onboarding a replacement takes months.
You didn't have a productive team.
You had a bus-factor of one.
Spread the knowledge before the vacation makes the point for you.

Off-the-shelf software is great, until it starts fighting your business instead of serving it.
Buy the common.
And build the thing that's uniquely yours.

'Move fast and break things.'
It depends entirely on what breaks.
1. A beta feature? -> Fine, cheap learning.
2. Money, data, trust? -> That's not learning, that's a catastrophe.
Go fast where breaking is cheap.
