پیٹرول کے ایک بیرل میں 42 گیلن ہوتے ہیں،ایک گیلن میں 3.8 لیٹر ہوتے ہیں،ایک بیرل میں 160 لیٹر ہوتے ہیں ایک بیرل اس وقت عالمی منڈی میں 75 ڈالر کا ہے،ڈالر 280 روپے کا ہے اس طرح ایک بیرل 21,000 پاکستانی روپے کا بنتا ہے،ایک لیٹر تقریباً 130 روپے کا اور ریفائنری کے لاگت ڈال کے 150 روپے اور حکومت عوام کو ڈبل قیمت میں فروخت کر کے مہنگائی کا خاتمہ کرنے کی بجائے عوام کو ہی ختم کر رہی ہے۔

A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court seeking a reduction in petroleum prices, arguing that consumers should benefit from lower international oil prices.

The plea stated that with global crude prices around $70 per barrel, petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan remain excessively high. It proposed that petrol should range between Rs. 170–190 per litre and diesel between Rs. 180–200 per litre.

The petition also questioned the Petroleum Development Levy and called for a transparent pricing mechanism based on legal and constitutional principles rather than external commercial pressures.
