రాజమండ్రి గోదావరి నది కాలుష్యానికి సగానికి పైగా 'ఆంధ్రా పేపర్ లిమిటెడ్' మిల్లే కారణమని ఏపీ డిప్యూటీ సీఎం పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

కాలుష్యాన్ని యథేచ్ఛగా వెదజల్లడమే కాకుండా, 2016 నుంచి స్థానిక పంచాయతీ, కార్పొరేషన్‌కు పన్నులు చెల్లించకుండా ఎగవేస్తున్నారు. మొత్తం రూ. 21.34 కోట్ల పన్ను బకాయిలు ఉన్నాయి. నోటీసులు ఇస్తే కోర్టుకెళ్లారు.

చాలామంది భావించినట్లు ఆంధ్రా పేపర్స్ ఆంధ్ర షుగర్స్ గ్రూప్‌ది కాదు. కోల్‌కతాకు చెందిన ఎస్.కే. బంగూర్ గ్రూప్ వెస్ట్ కోస్ట్ పేపర్ మిల్స్ చేతుల్లో 72.45% వాటాతో నడుస్తోంది.

ఉపాధి కల్పిస్తున్నారనే సాకుతో నదిని కాలుష్యం చేయడం, ప్రభుత్వ ఆదాయానికి గండి కొట్టడాన్ని సహించేది లేదని పవన్ స్పష్టం చేశారు.
