How can the Election Commission remove a senior citizen so casually?
Why is there no family/household mapping to prevent this?
This isn’t a data error it’s administrative failure.
This happened to my family.
My 69-year-old father’s voter ID was deleted in TN SIR 2026 without any notice.
Same house. Same family. Others remain on the roll.

🙏 Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes. To be fair, I only have a couple kids at home to distract me, while Vishy has an entire nation of chess "children" to demand his attention! 🇮🇳

Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party have done an invaluable service to democracy and to the people of India, especially the poor and the marginalised, by highlighting deep and highly damaging systemic flaws in the electoral process and by putting the far-from-impartial Election Commission of India squarely on the defensive. Read this insightful and rigorously argued single leader in The Hindu (August 9, 2025).
“The appropriate response,” the editorial concludes, “requires comprehensive voter roll auditing, enhanced transparency in data sharing, improved technical safeguards including comprehensive audit trails of EVM commands and security protocols for symbol loading, stronger enforcement of electoral regulations, and consultations with political parties. The ECI must embrace the principle that democratic institutions grow stronger through scrutiny. The alternative — continued
erosion of confidence in electoral processes —
poses far greater risks to democratic governance
than any specific allegation of malpractice.”

BJP leaders advocating Hindi insist, “You must know Hindi to buy tea, pani puri, or use toilets in North India.”
In the Age of AI, forcing any language as a third language in schools is unnecessary. Advanced translation technology already removes language barriers instantly. Students should not be burdened with extra languages. They should focus on mastering their mother tongue and English while gaining expertise in science and technology. If needed, they can learn any language later.
True progress lies in innovation, not linguistic imposition.

This is as per census 2011. I've listed percentage of top 10 Indian languages which are mother tongue of people:
Hindi 27%
Bengali 8%
Marathi 7%
Telugu 7%
Tamil 6%
Gujarati 5%
Bhojpuri 5%
Kannada 5%
Malayalam 3%
Even as per centre's official census, only 27% of Indians have mother tongue as Hindi. It is a false narrative that Hindi is the mother tongue of majority of Indians.
For majority of Indians, 73% - Hindi is not their mother tongue. All languages need to grow and thrive. There is no point in thrusting what 27% speak on the remaining 73% of the country's population.
Say Marathi and Gujarati should be the main languages in Maharashtra and Gujarat and it is not appropriate to let Hindi dominate.
Likewise Punjab and Odisha should prioritise Punjabi and Odia.
There is no and can never be a national language for India.
English and Hindi would remain as official or link languages.
With DeepSeek, every org in the world has access to the latest AI technology, only for the price of the GPUs needed to run them internally. Every org gets a free IQ boost!
One immediate consequence for the Saas business is that AI enabled capabilities cannot be priced at a huge premium.
Other open source software like Linux or Postgres would start to incorporate open source AI deeply and that would make it even easier for their users.
The pace of innovation in every industry will accelerate as we learn how to use this freely available technology.
Thank you, Thiru @mkstalin for spending time with our Electric SUVs BE 6 and XEV 9E.
And thank you Industry Minister Thiru @TRBRajaa for your unwavering support.
I believe the CM particularly enjoyed seeing our Automatic Parking technology.
Well, we are delighted by the success of the outstandingly talented team at Mahindra Research Valley who chose to ‘park’ in Chennai for well over a decade now!

The new year party video from Bengaluru is really disappointing.
This is not modernization at all, but the fall of civilization. If you want to copy the West, copy the good things (whatever they have). Such a pathetic party culture, drugs, etc., won't make you one of them.
Chennai has a way of welcoming it's heroes. I remember this lovely picture . The bus driver stopped the vehicle and came out to shake my hand and all the passengers put out their hands. This is etched in my memory as the best compliment! It doesn't get more Chennai than this .
In #AtulSubhash’s case, 150 court hearings caused immense stress and no peace due to delays. Those who file false allegations and are found guilty after prolonged trials should face severe punishment, not just a fine or imprisonment but something equivalent to the death penalty.
