@Michell33650674@JohnCleese Stop reposting this nonsense @JohnCleese - it is beneath you. You know perfectly well that the "files" contain all of the notes and messages of an obsessive social climber. For crying out loud are you suggesting that @peterthiel was involved with Epstein to get access to women?
@BridgetPhetasy Substitute in NY Times and ABC, CBS, and NBC and you'll get the media ecosystem that the left used exclusively for decades. What a gasbag.
I don't think it is accurate or productive to characterize the official stance of the Roman Catholic and many Protestant denominations as "hard Christian Right." I am RC, pro life, and believe that human life begins at conception, but I would prefer an outcome in which abortion is (a) significantly more rare and (b) legal only in the first trimester (like many 1st world countries) rather than the status quo.
@JustineBateman Noooo! I follow you here and subscribe to your Substack because of your wonderfully cranky skepticism of AI as a replacement for human artistry. Shazam for car sounds will kill NPR! :)
@RealJamesWoods Man, I loved Cronenberg's VIDEODROME to death, but I'll never watch it again, because fuck you, Jimmy. You're a cultist and a pedophile.
To the Islamic scholar in Spain who said:
โMen without beards might cause indecent thoughts in other men because they look like women. Therefore, all men must grow beards.โ
This is not a joke.
This is what some Islamic scholars actually believe and preach in 2026.
They are so afraid of their own inability to control their desires that they want to force every man in society to grow a beard to โprotectโ them.
This is not religion.
This is a complete lack of personal responsibility and self-control.
When your faith requires you to police other peopleโs faces because you canโt control your own thoughts, the problem is not society.
The problem is your ideology.
Europe and the West are slowly waking up to this level of absurdity.
Japan should watch very carefully.
Unusually explicit connection from the rejection of children to the death drive at the end of this reader roundup in the NYT.
Begins with the usual โWho would want to bring children into a worldโฆโ and ends, wellโฆ
There is right-wing violence, certainly. But what differentiates it from its partisan counterpart is that nearly everyone recognizes this about the right, nearly everyone condemns it, and nearly everyone works to mitigate it.
Left-wing violence, by contrast, enjoys implicit or even explicit support from the very institutions designed to maintain social order, from academia to the news media to the judiciary. And thatโs if they acknowledge the violence at all.

Still reading up on the details, but seems like Mamdani managed to do excellent politics & disciplined budgeting to close a massive (inherited!) funding gap -- all without slashing services & while communicating effectively to New Yorkers throughout the process. Pretty good!
David, you usually act in good faith. I think you should reconsider your response. In 2026 the vast majority of assassination attempts and political violence incidents are perpetrated by crazies with hard left views. The majority of people excusing them and egging them on are on the hard left. You should admit this and police your own side.
