Seattle's SEA Street (Street Edge Alternative). Two years of monitoring show that SEA Street has reduced the total volume of stormwater leaving the street by 99 percent.
Great to see that Carolina alumni and friends are making an immediate difference to @UNC students adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by supporting the Carolina Student Impact Fund https://t.co/XApjs0mRkE
It’s not enough for cities to reduce their speed limits, and hope for the best.
The police can’t be everywhere, and drivers will travel as quickly as they feel comfortable.

We constantly talk about how kids “these days” need to get less screen time and more outdoor time.
But by building cities for cars, we’ve systematically robbed them of the ability to do so.
A cycling city is a child-friendly city.

To the extent that we can 'solve' traffic, Dutch cities have come pretty close.
Dear @Elonmusk:
☝traffic is more than capacity: it is also about quality of life
✌more cars are not part of the solution, they are the problem

Want more people cycling more often in your city? Stop creating places that DARE or ABLE them, and start creating ones that INVITE them.
As we often say: Don't build streets that make the 5% already biking marginally safer. Build them to entice the other 95% back on their bikes.
This isn't safety: "What happens is that we make a road so, so unsafe that nobody wants to walk or bike there in the first place. Then we look at the crash data, see that the number of pedestrian and bicyclist crashes has gone down, and declare victory." https://t.co/3i0KRlsLG5
Time is always moving on, Nothing can stop it. The question is whether we use our time properly or not. We can’t do anything about the past, but what happens in the future depends on what we do now.
@WeaverStreet 2 months later, still no new bike racks or progress on the next phase of the project. Wouldn't it be possible to speed up the installation of the much needed bike racks @WeaverStreet?
Hey @WeaverStreet, when are you installing a real bike rack in Carrboro? This one doesn't meet code and people want to be able to ride and park safely!

Most temporary bike paths in the Netherlands are better than PERMANENT bike paths in other places.
Look at the power of temporary/tactical urbanism in #Rotterdam:
We often fail to comprehend how recently the Dutch committed to becoming a cycling nation.
Of the country’s 37,000 km of separated cycle tracks, more than HALF—about 20,000 km—was built in the past two decades.
And they’re still adding a staggering 1,000 km each and every year.
Private cars are the least efficient, most dangerous, and most wasteful/polluting form of transportation in cities. They kill more Americans annually than guns. So glad we will finally have an @sfmta_muni director that acknowledges that. @jeffreytumlin https://t.co/CmOg0d8IVl
Thanks to @ArtsEverywhere at @UNC, members of the Carolina community can print original works by Carolina writers from these literary vending machines for free. #UNCad https://t.co/Jl3sJj8Kgq
