Since I didnβt make my flight for Paris. Iβve extended my GoFundMe page in pursuit of LA2028. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated https://t.co/cuEFxL4ill
So extremely excited, happy and blessed to announce that iβve been selected to compete at the World Athletics Relays championship in Botswana π§πΌ. #TeamJamaica π―π² Letβs go do thisβ‘οΈ
KFC Jamaica returns with strong backing for the Reggae Girlz through a new two-year, $14 million sponsorship, including $12M in cash and $2M in meal support, as the team sets its sights on qualifying for a historic third consecutive FIFA Womenβs World Cup.
The brand has been steadily showing up for womenβs football locally, from its recent $3.5M commitment to the Jamaica Womenβs Premier League to its earlier support of the Reggae Girlz in 2023.
This latest move continues that track record, reinforcing its presence across every level of the womenβs game.
Jamaicaβs Nayoka Clunis improved her Womenβs Hammer Throw National Record today when she threw 72.03m to win the Hammer Throw Event at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, VA. She betters her 2024 mark of 71.83m. Clunis dominated the field with 3 70m+ throws. @nay_throws
World Athletics being strict on the switching allegiance thing is fine if theyβre also going to be strict on how Federations treat their athletes (especially when it comes to team selections moving forward). But theyβre not going to.
My initial thought is I feel bad for Roje and Rajindra. They sat out a world championship year (2025) in the thought this would get passed.
Now they wasted a year of their prime and they go back to a federation that doesn't care about field events, which was the driver for all this in the first place.
