Interesting thread on value of INR in South Asia.

[Tenzing Lamsang @TenzingLamsang]

🧵
Indians may not know this but the Indian Rupee over the years had become like a regional US dollar in South Asia with many smaller countries accepting or tolerating it as legal tender.

This greatly helped Indian tourists and travellers whose Rs was readily accepted.

An interesting thread.

THE SHINING was released 43 years ago today. Not a huge success on its release, it has gone down as one of Stanley Kubrick’s most popular films and most influential horror movies ever made. The behind the scenes story is as outrageous as you might expect…

THREAD: One of our clients was an 11-year-old Black child taking a shower before bed when DC police burst into her bathroom, pulled back the curtain, and pointed guns at her naked body. Cops said they found a little marijuana on her dad (who didn't live there) two weeks before.

Quick 🧵on jihadist reactions to #Zawahiri's death: Online supporters of al-Qaeda, including heavyweight clerics, have mourned the "martyrdom" of al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, seeming to largely accept US announcement of 1 Aug that he was killed in a drone strike in Kabul /1

An important thread.

Why is @ZeeNews @sudhirchaudhary inviting people like Ilyas Sharafuddin who is seen insulting Hinduism and laughing at Hindu beliefs on a Live TV where Lakhs of people are watching the debate. This self proclaimed 'Islamic Scholar' is regularly seen in News debates on Godi Meida.
