Since Mike Johnson says members of Congress don't make enough money with just their salaries, may I suggest:
- Dialing back on those streaming subscriptions
- Reducing your cell phone plan
- Taking public transportation
- Eating cheaper cuts of meat
- Eating in more often
- Turning off the lights when you're not in the room
- Getting a part-time job at Walmart
- Growing a f-cking spine and stop whining
Signed,
Everyone trying to eke out a living in your shitty economy
CBS not airing James Talarico’s interview with Stephen Colbert because they were supposedly worried about FCC backlash is a really big deal. Stephen Colbert was told not to say anything and did so anyways. This man is not getting enough credit for standing up for free speech.
It’s important that you understand what happened last night.
Last night, Stephen Colbert interviewed Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, a candidate who, by all accounts, is on track in the polls to flip Texas blue.
In response, Trump’s FCC reportedly threatened CBS if the interview aired.
CBS caved and pulled the segment, citing “financial reasons.”
In modern American history, no president has been more hostile to free speech than Donald Trump.
But censorship always backfires.
Here’s the full segment Trump didn’t want you to see.
Rep. Dan Goldman: "In an interview last week, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said that any victim who wants to speak with the DOJ has done so. Thanks to the incredibly brave people sitting behind you, we can actually ask them if that's true…How many of you or your loved ones actually have met with the DOJ? None. How many of you have reached out…to offer to provide testimony or evidence? All of them…How many of you were denied or ignored by the DOJ? All of them…How many of you are still willing to speak to the DOJ? All of them. Well, Ms. Bondi, it seems you have some more witnesses to talk to."
CHILLING: Rep. Dan Goldman asks Epstein survivors to stand up.
Met with DOJ? Zero hands.
Reached out? All hands up.
Still willing to speak to the DOJ? Every hand up.
Bondi refused to even turn around or acknowledge the women she claims to protect.
Bondi must RESIGN!
There seems to be some confusion about the SAVE America Act. If it becomes law, you will NOT be able to vote with your drivers license alone.
You’d need:
1. A passport, which more than half of Americans don’t have and costs at least $130
OR
2. A birth certificate PLUS your photo ID with matching names, which nearly 70 million married women lack
OR
3. Military services papers (not a military ID alone) with sensitive info.
I’m voting NO.
Jesus had zero loyalty to the political & religious parties of his day. It’s why they were all so infuriated by him. He did not care about optics, and he did not play their games.
He was singularly committed to the values of the Kingdom.
They love saying “America is a Christian nation” until it comes time to:
welcoming immigrants
helping the poor
feeding the hungry
housing the unhoused
providing healthcare
showing mercy
practicing humility
telling the truth
being faithful to their spouses
caring for the sick
protecting children
loving their neighbors
showing basic empathy
