Pakistan should temporarily defer its scheduled diplomatic and military contacts and visits to the USA to cater for the situation in the home region. It is not in the national interest to get dragged into the conflict next door through such visits. It should also be prepared to counter any mischief by neighbouring India to settle not so old scores in this situation. Pakistan ought to resist recent temptations and diplomatic pampering by the Trump administration to the extent of staying clear of the actual war scene and categorically refuse to repeat its 9/11 role in the region?
