Athletes that are very extended will not only have an anterior pelvic tilt and excessive lumbar lordosis, but often a flat or extended thoracic spine and externally rotated & elevated ribs representing a less than optimal training position.
If Bench Press is a staple in your program you need to study gravity and ground force production. In thinking about all the strength coaches that have had an impact on my thought process not one of them put much stock if any into the bench press. #JustSayin
A good example of how NOT 2 hold a plank. Notice the ant. tilt of the pelvis, the ribs externally rotated, & the athletes inability to deal w/ gravity. The ant.tilt of the pelvis is promoted by 2 strong of a back &hip flexors leading to long weak hamstrings & abs. #plankprobz
