@Jennamc9 I feel you. I was 23, I’ll be 37. 33 when he hopefully starts his home leaves. Our daughter was 4, she will be 18. Time flies so fast, and despite all that I really believe our best is yet to come and it will be so beautiful and treasured 🤍 We have to reframe it I guess xxx
Had our first family day in 5 years in Dec. Had photos. Not had them.. Just been informed the SD card has been wiped over by accident so all gone. You really are the gift that keeps on giving you give in one hand and take with another @HMPDovegate family ties just a buzz word 👍🏼
Under normal circumstances, I do my best to ignore the 20th Dec. Its the anniversary of when, as a 16-year-old in care, I was kicked out by my foster carer via a note on the kitchen table. I never really got over it. But in the wake of yesterday's shocking judgement depriving
@Michael82986852 Absolutely not. Education is key. It makes no sense that professionals must present information to lay people. This, compounded with social media and readily accessible information and unidentified bias, renders the jury system unfit for purpose.
@Jennamc9 You’ll do it. In a few years you’ll look back and be amazed at how far you’ve come and how resilient you are. I felt like you in 2018.. he doesn’t come home until 2032. But the time is ticking on quicker than I thought it would. Like grief, you learn to live with it. X
@PrisonR4rmAct The lack of incell phone was hard during covid. But I have to say, my partner&I agree Frankland was MILES better than Dovegate. Nicer visits, reliable routine, decent staff. Dovegate routine inconsistent, staff give lip service & sell a lie on social media. He’d go back tomorrow.
Let’s start looking at rehabilitation properly now then 🤡 instead of it being a buzz word! Let’s look at the court process, and the unfit for purpose @CommunityCCRC .. and getting IPPs out! What a country eh
@AferditaSa I can’t imagine your pain, I’ve followed your story since our nightmare began. You’ve done him proud ❤️ I’m sorry your family are living this. When are @hmpps going to be held accountable for their horrendous treatment and abhorrent duty of care 💔 what a country.
“There needs to be more accountability on those whose actions lead to prisoner’s deaths, and I will continue to fight for justice for Liridon and the families in our position..” @AferditaSa on the multiple failings of Belmarsh prison. https://t.co/4mWoGPtJ44
@curveball2020 I can’t believe it. I’ve got 1 of 3 investigatory meetings tomorrow. I’ve contacted law universities that provide pro bono legal representation as I’ve been quoted £2000+ to start. Just never ends!
This is absolutely the case! Significantly more time to serve yet no more opportunity to prove rehabilitation and readiness for reintegrating back into society. Waste of resources too… give more opportunities to lifers, you’re short staffed, use trusted prisoners for something.
Prisoners serving long sentences are spending years in jail unsure about what they can do to prepare—and ultimately demonstrate their readiness—for release, a new report published today by the Prison Reform Trust reveals.

Prisoners in HMP Swinfen Hall haven't had a supply of toilet roll in nearly 3 weeks. Wipes have also been removed from the canteen sheet. Maintaining hygiene levels should be paramount in such a confined environment & is absolutely necessary for the safety of prisoners & staff.
@rix_glm I’m not disputing the category of crime for those convicted in prisons, I’m disputing your generalised and subjective decision not to call anyone who has broken the law ‘amazing’. Your view seems awfully narrow minded for someone with so many observations.
