First off, thank you for supporting Elegy of St. Godhrkar during Steam Next Fest!
I've always wanted to make a physical calendar that fits the game's aesthetic. The dream was a metal mechanical one, until I saw the cost and minimum order quantity and promptly noped out.
So I went the solo-dev route: wooden laser-cut kit, printed at home!
I bought self-adhesive paper and pearlescent cardstock, printed the dials, cut everything out by hand, and pieced it together. No professional prototyping, just me, an X-Acto knife, and a desk that now looks like a glitter bomb went off lolllll
Does it work?
Mostly. The dates flip, the pieces fit (tight in some spots, loose in others), and the pearlescent paper looks… well, recognizable…
Anyway, I saved on both the prototyping fee and the design cost!
