Is this a joke? I know I’m retired/washed up, but this is insane. Swinging a 34/28?
This seems like a great way to get a lot of kids hurt.
I’m retired, so I’ll say it. If you can’t swing a -3 in HS ball, you shouldn’t be playing.
After a night of reflection, I think I am grateful for Jerry Dipoto being honest about their philosophy and plans.
My sustainable plan as a Mariners fan to be interested in the team 54% of the time:
* Ignore any article or tweet indicating the Mariners will sign an impact free agent
* Only spend money on tickets when the team is winning big
* Assume the team will never win a World Series
* Brace for our best players who care about winning a ring to sign elsewhere
* Cheer like hell for Cal Raleigh and any other player who challenges the ownership and front office to be all in, all the time
* Enjoy the memes generated by patronizing and arrogant quotes from the front office and ownership
* Golf more during the season
* Explore the world of pickleball
* Never believe any hype from the manager or front office during Spring Training
* Assume this team will never win big until there is an owner in place that values winning over padding their pocket
“What did you expect Jerry Dipoto to say, it’s a press conference!?”
Watch this clip and tell me which one of those guys you’d want in charge of your team that just fell short of the playoffs.
No wonder that Hoyer has won a WS despite cheap ownership. He learns from failures.
